I cannot stand the NHL, the Leafs and Leafs fans in particular. Talk about a bunch of overly optimistic *****... Let's plan the Stanley Cup parade one week in to the season! HA! MLSE has Toronto and Leafs fans wrapped around their finger. All they have to do is put a handful of names (Tucker, Sundin, Belfour, Domi) on the ice that the fans enjoy following, show occaisional heart in their playing, and the Maple Leaf Gardens is sold out every game of the season. Why spend the extra money to try and win the cup when you are guaranteed sellouts and the licensing agreements for Leafs merchandise already bring in seven figures? MLSE sets the stage to make the first round of the playoffs so they can double the price of their tickets and then lose in a dramatic fashion. IF they make it to the playoffs this year I hope their demise is quick, I won't be able to stand the bandwagon'rs for too long. Hell the celebrations downtown and in my neighbourhood are so ridiculous after just winning one playoff game you'd think they had won it all only to be defeated and out of the playoffs two nights later. I've spent a fair amount of time in the U.S. this spring and the best part about it was not hearing a single thing about the NHL, Hockey, and the Leafs.

 

Wow, with a love like that for a "hometeam", sounds like racerjason should move out of the city he's in to say.... quebec or your new favorite place the states. Who are you to be judge people for believing in something? I voted my opinion to no cup, but I don't begrudge people the "hope" of something. It probably wouldn't have bothered me, your statement that is, except you voiced pointless thoughts on something you don't even want any part of. You can't stand leaf fans? wow you are a real loss to the fans and I'm sure they'll miss you, and anyone who uses the word "*****" has gotta be a real mans man, If you know what I mean.

My best friend is a Leafs fan. It's his choice and that's fine.

I'll be the first to admit I live in the wrong city, ship me off to Calgary, Montreal, or California.

Go ahead and reprimand me for my personal opinion. I know I have friends on this board that are Leafs fans. That's not going to change my relationship with them. Man's man? Come on...

 

HAHA, the minute this thread started I knew this was going to happen. Anytime you ask people their opinions on sports and particular teams winning or losing they get worked up about it. Maybe its just a canadian hockey thing....

I know racerjason has a stong dislike for the TML and their fans. He's voiced that before. I think he really just hates the blind Leaf Nation followers. It's all good.

Btw, 50% of current Sens fans used to be Leaf fans, and now they act like the Leafs are scum of the earth...meh, how is that for being lame!!!

 

And the other 50% used to be Habs fans!

Being from Montreal, I am of course a habs fan (got digital cable so I can watch all the games on RDS!) - and that means that the Leafs are public enemy number 1. And if you think the Senators fans are some bandwagon jumpers, you should see Canucks fans! They are at least as bad if not worse than sens fans. If the Canucks win they hail them as the best team ever and worship Bertuzzi. If they loose, they fall off the radar and people just mutter about how much of a bum each player is.

 

COME ON LEAF NATION!!!! Only 2 'Yes' votes!!!!!

 

YES ..the Leafs will make the Play-offs..STEMS AND SEEDS will come in second and third!..

 

I will make a prediction now...the leafs will win the cup, Telquvist is an All star goalie, Domi is Gretzky...crack makes you smart!...Only leaf fans can dream that fantasy...............

Haha Domi. Ok, that's a stretch. There is not one Leaf fan that I know that would ever compare Domi to Gretzky. He does what he does.

Well, the Leafs are officially out, due to the Tampa Bay win over Carolina.

At least we played our first good game against the Sens since the the shootout loss at the beginning of the season...

...only 7 months till the next season!!!
