Unfortunately its looking more and more like I may only make it for the meet and won't be on the track. My issues from last fall are reappearing already and its actually starting to annoy me quite a lot since I can't seem to find the problem. Rebuilt carb and completely reworked ignition system helped a bit in the beginning, but after about 1000km on the new spark plugs I put in this spring that seemed to solve the issues, the engine is starting to revert back to running crappy in the high RPMS. At least I may be able to have some kind of idea of whats going on if these spark plugs have started to foul, going to pull them tonight to see what they look like.

I hope I can find the problem as the engine was incredibly strong in this car when it was running good, makes tons of power for a 12A that only has a header and somewhat free flowing exhaust.

Well I will definitely only be making it for the meet now. Between time constraints and my 79 persistently refusing to give up the cause of its troubles I highly doubt I will be able to run on the track.

 

Just paid for my day. Only 21 places left. I am ready to rock and roll guys!

Juuuuuuuuuust because I'm the shiney new guy around here, I'll try and make an appearance - still waiting on my work schedule, but if the world doesn't go sideways I'll be there for the meet but not the track (engine break in)

 

Does anyone know if it cost anything to just go in and spectate?

hey, i want to come out..I never tracked before, do I need to purchase a helmet to track? Also..what do I need to bring to this event? Do I bring my own buckets of fuel or are there local gas stations? Also do I do oil changes on the spot or is it even required?

 

Yes you need a helmet. Bring tools like jack, wrenches, torque wrench etc. Bring some warm clothes and old clothes if you are going to do work. I bring extra fuel.
