yep, frs is the one. Channel 7 is it! And 'likeadrug", the more the merrier, that includes spectators. Some of us may only want to make a few runs to see how we do and then sit out for a while anyway.

I'm planning on coming by.

It's questionable whether or not I'll bring my FB, doubtfully racing if I do. But it'll be good to see a bunch of rotaries out there.

Another one, great! So, Dansuxx, Nubian, Dragoon, 84stock, Syritis, CSMcanuck, ctrl will all be racing and Alak will be there for support and video taping and now Scourge and likeadrug as spectators as well. This will be good parking lot representation. For those who haven't been there spectators and racers all park in the pits so we can still all park together racing or not. That's a commitment of "10" so far, not bad. Hope no-one pulls out gang, weather still looks promising. I can't stress enough to bring a "warm" coat as the races run long after the sun goes down. (man you should've see Chev shiver like a little girl without a coat a few weeks ago)..........and final confirmation post here so we know you're coming......

I'll be there for sure. I'll have both my 7's with me bcuz I treated my roomie and his kid to a night at the races. What a great thing about 2 seater 7's.... an excuse to take both your cars with you. lol

I registered the FB this afternoon, so it'll be there, along with myself.

Still no racing though, besides who realy wants to see a mostly stock 12A run a quarter mile

EDIT:
Where is everyone parking who's not racing.

Well, I donno how your evening went, but I spent most of it push starting Gary's car. He killed the starter in a previous effort hours earlier, while dealing with his freshly installed MSD woes.

Back to stock ignition it went. Result? Rough Idle and the ability to work your back muscles from behind the car. Car fine otherwise. The new carb works great (other than the Idle problems).

Nice to see a few FB's out supporting the RX-7 community.

Went good for me. Kicked some chevy *** and some honDUH ***.

I only go race against my own times.... such is my attitude while still racing with a stock engine, but for once I had other cars 5 or 6 car lengths behind me and that felt really good.

My first run of the night was my best ever.... 16.114s @ 84.35mph with an R/T of 0.132 ..and was the best time I've run in a stock 7 so far. (stock except for header)

My other 7 also has a header on it, and it also has a aluminum flywheel and it didn't do nearly as well last time I raced it, (17.094 @ 80mph R/T of 0.157) which leads me to suspect maybe my white 82' is ported? That would sure explain the gas mileage difference.

It really sucked they had to close the track right after 84stock got his car teched. I hope they gave him a rain cheque on the next race day.

Was that your metallic-baby blue coloured car?

[edit] Don't be discouraged by "mostly stock" I've beat dansuxx's streetported 7 3 times now and unlike with my blue seven, there was no neck and neck finish this time. I walloped him.

Mine is pretty much the same color as the bottom one in your sig.

I was pulling in to the parking lot just as a caravan of FB's was leaving. Rolled down my window, talked with one guy, had a boost guage on the pillar (I assume it was 84Stock). Then I turned around and left. Exciting stuff

It was realy nice to see lots of FB's.

Since this week got canceled, bump for next friday. I'll see what this week holds for me and with some luck I can join everyone on the track.

I dont think you'll have much trouble showing gary your new exhaust tips coming off a light chev. Especially since I've passed my Rotary curse down to gary now.

May he be blessed with the true form of modified rotary. Nothing but trouble.

Hope my old FC starter worked out for him.

Got the starter off the one at pick your part today. Wow, what a difference and only 18 bucks (it a factory mazda rebuilt). With motor and tranny gone it was hanging by 1 wire in the bay, quick snip and away i went. Maybe I can see Chev's tail lights next friday if he doesn't chicken out.

Lucky find. I've gotten very lucky at that wreckers for easy part pulling. It seems that if I wanted a cv joint, the strut and control arm were already gone, or if I wanted a tranny, somebody already yanked the engine. I get lucky there a lot.. rofl.... as you well know...lol. I'm almost feeling guilty about the whole thing... I said almost. It's not everyday you get a complete and rust free 88 GLX that runs for $999 and beat 2 fellow rotorheads to the cashier by 20 mniutes.

I fired it up and it sounds pretty loud but the engine sounds fine. I rev'd it up a bit and it still sounded fine. But after about 30s the add coolant light and warning buzzer comes on and stays on.

I checked the coolant and oil levels and topped them off but I still have the problem. I guess I'll have to get another haynes manual now and find the coolant level sensor and check it out.

BTW 84' some guy came to my door the other day saying he had an 85 fb the same color as my blue one that had been rear ended and the lady who had it 9 years wanted to sell it. He said she'd take $1000 for it. I went over and had a look at it. It's got the same interior as mine and is in really nice shape. "Lady clean" you could call it. It's got some rescue-able surface rust on the metal thingy in front of the hood from stone chips and a little bubble rust in the rear wheel wells. The paint is about as good as mine. There are steel rims on it but maybe she has the factory rims, I didn't ask. It's bone stock with both pre-cats, cat, A/P yada yada. Heard it run, runs fine. Muffler need replaced though as it's completely rusted out. If Alak does fb's I can take him over to look at it if he's still in the market for a 7.

[edit]

Forgot to mention. Only damage from being rear-ended is the bumper, or maybe just bumper skin needs replaced.

Well, I appologize for not showing as I promised.

I got tied up with some problems at work till about 7:45 then had to drive a friend home heading north up by SAIT to would've only got there about 9-930.

I'll do my best to show up next time though so I can learn from some of the more experienced rotary owners. Were their any FD owners that showed?

Here is a pic of my car so you can give me a wave if you see me cruising down mcleode or deerfoot:

When's the next date set for?

Hopefully he'll pm ya. We're looking at another fc as well, but I know he likes fb's. He's a good guy and I'm sure he'd give you a hand with your score, plus he has the parts you need and he is very fair.

Well lucky for me he's got brake parts when I have no brakes. I have a hunch it's the master cylinder. Hope he has one to sell.

It boggles my mind pick n pull sold it for so cheap. Especially considering how good the paint, body and rust free it is.
