In the market for an RX

Well it's soon coming that time for me to buy an RX this spring. My plan was to buy a FB and do a T2 swap, But i've been looking around for some new FB ad's to come up but the cheap imported FD's keep catching my eye. I'm thinking it might be a good idea. Now i know these cars probably need some work but i might rather have a sick FD than a decently nice FB. Might be better to wait a few years to drive the FD then to pour shitload of money into a 20 year old FB while still wanting an FD after all that. I probably wouldn't get to drive it this summer but at least i would have her, An FC is also nice but i'm not to keen in the looks department on them. Here are some of those ad's.

Red one on trader is, the other ones might be too, i guess i'd have to go check them out, see how screwed they really are, still though, it still might be worth it to get one of them even if i couldn't drive it right away. The lure of a Turbo FB is really strong though lol, The problem with doing a Turbo FB is finding a decent rust free one under 4 or 5 thousand to drop a motor in.

all of the ad's have "We have other JDM car available ( Toyota MR2, Nissan Skyline GTR, GTS, Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo and Non Turbo, Mitsubishi GTO and many more)" added to the bottem so i'd assume they're all of the same place,

That's my only beef with them. I'd only buy one for the track. But there's definately no arguing with the prices.

You made quite the nice ornament out of my scrap rotor and housing. (If that's the ones I gave Marc that are in your avatar)

the housing and rotor are out of chris's engine lol. Now I just need to find a clock to go in the middle of it. Spent probably 6 hours on it blasting and painting. Pain in the *** to paint the coolant ports because i had to do them all by hand with a paint brush but worth it to make it look right. I actually found 3 cracks in the housing eh. Both spark plug holes were cracked across and there was another radiating out from the exhaust port. all on the inside surface of the housing.

All those fd's are pretty cheap .... If it were me, and I had the money. I would get an fd, there to sexy to explain in words. Fb's are okay ..... It seems like for me the progression of the generations is the order of how I like them.

k ... here was the original description for my car last spring:

1985 Mazda RX7 GSL 12A

In good shape, tuned up and ready for spring, certified. Body is in good shape with some scratches and dents all minor. Looks good but could use paint touched up to be perfect. Interior is in great shape. All electrical in good working order (rear wiper, power mirrors, hatch release, gas cap, windows, flip up lights) Sunroof in perfect condition.

New cap, rotor and plugs
Brakes redone this spring (new pads, and all 3 e-brake cables)
New windshield
Newer Plastic gas tank
Second gen seats (with new seat covers)

$2200 certified,

put another $750 into the motor/engine to tune up a little more and another $650 on stereo etc for my son. think i will keep the stereo, but have about $3k into the car. with blown motor, i will have to take a bath, but make me an offer and we will see what we can do.

penguin - saw your thread - if you were in ontario, i would love to take it off your hands!
