Looking for a shop that also does Fab work and Dyno Tuning
Seen the sticky and browsed through the listings and also searched. Seems like most listings in the Ontario area doesn't go deeper into builds other than general mechanical. I'm looking for a one stop shop that can do some light fabrication (redo Trans Mount, Intake tubing, radiator lines, etc.), general mechanical (Fuel pump swap, fuel lines re-ran, boost control solenoid installed, E85 sensor installed, etc.), and lastly Dyno tuned to dynamically use either gas and E85 depending on whats in the tank.
So far my luck has been horrible in trying to find a shop willing to work on my project. They either wont touch a rotary, have no clue on E85 / flex fuel and tuning for it, or maybe they just think I'm bench racing and don't believe I have a rotary in a 2k lb / 900kg miata.
Any suggestions on a shop near Lake Ontario? Toronto is about four and a half hours either way I go around Lake Ontario.

Well, if you find a shop somewhere in Canada, you can give Sasha at On Point Dyno a call. He's mobile so he can bring the dyno to where ever the shop is. He's very reputable with a lot of tuning platforms. He might also have a recommendation for a shop for you.

E85 is next to impossible to get in Ontario unless your buying VP Race Fuels E85 which is $$$. Might want to look elsewhere. Have a shop in the states work on your car, its cheaper and less bitching.

Thanks for the info. Figured I'd try north of the border before increasing my search radius ... currently up to a 14 hour drive to get this thing tuned once the build is finalized.

Man, if I wasnt moving away and closing up my shop this sounds like a very cool project i'd be interested in helping you out with.
I can recommend 2 people I would trust for fabrication and tuning.
Rene at Centerline Motorsports is an insane fabricator, not many shops in Ontario impress me with the work they do, but Centerline impress's the hell out of me.
And as for tuning, Sasha at On Point dyno is by far the best tuner with years of experience tuning street/racecars. Very knowlegable with all kinds of tuning software and all around great guy to deal with.
Good luck with your build!

Thanks for the info. The fab work isn't overly complicated, just finish work for the most part. Currently have a line out to innovate in buffalo, trying to avoid a huge transportation expense if at all possible. Never thought it would be this difficult finding a tuner. Course my project will probably be the first full flexfuel capable rotary powered miata in the world.

No hype, Sasha has tuned a couple cars for me and is tuning Modified Mag's Project RX-8 and Modified's Time Attack FD.
Tuning is tuning dude. Hit your target AFR, keep the ignition timing reasonable and keep the knocks down.
Sasha tunes with a standalone knock box where he can listen to any kind of knock through headphones, most importantly he has tons of experience with tuning software from several ECU manufacturers. PFC, Haltech, Adaptronic, Motec, HP Tuners ect ect

Hartin Automotive in Portland Ontario. Rotary experts, incredible welders, and have lots of experience with fabbing but alas no dyno. they have an se with a 13brew with the whole crossmember hand built.
