I was considering heading out there, but I'm on shitty all season tires and didn't feel like swapping to the stock wheels and Sumi's. Lazy much? I plan to hit it once after I order the Hankooks.
Nice time, I'm impressed, but it doesn't count for **** till we see the slip.

Should have came anyway. The course was a really well setup one, very fast and was tons of fun. Luckily the clutch held out until halfway through my final timed run, so I got the day out of it. The guy with the red Viper slid out and went over a curb, giving him a flat tire and one hell of a scare, but otherwise came out of it fine.

I've only needed a tow once in the last 9 years when my transmission blew up this spring. That would have been nearly $1000 in wasted CAA membership. I'd rather just pay for a tow if needed and save the $800. My stuff tends not to break, but a 1st autocross with a car is still a bit of a rite of passage.
Realistically speaking, the drag strip is far more abusive then an autocross.

Definitely is. Consider the fact that it's full throttle for the whole run on top of a hard launch. At an autocross you launch at a lower RPM and your on and off the throttle, very rarely at full throttle for more than a couple seconds, depending on the course. It's alot harder on suspension, brakes and tires. One good course can really tear up the shoulders of a tire. It's helpful to have an extra set to change to at the track, so your not destroying your street tires.

ok im think im going back this Friday night 24th of July. i want to hit the 13 second mark before i install my MS.
so this time il take out my spare tire and 20LB of spare tools from the bins and bring my tire gauge with me so i can drop my pressures to 17psi ish and i should be able to get 13.90 if all works out.
(sry for the short notice last time )

Yeah, I wonder who the 1st gen owner was. I don't know if we even introduced ourselves.
Anyone who a guy with an immaculate black 1st gen, nice set of thick spoked wheels with silver rims, stock port engine, Holley carb and RB exhaust?
