Laser or Water Jet Cutting
Does anybody have a contact for a company in the Metro Toronto area that does one off Laser or Water Jet Cutting? I need to get some Manifold flanges cut from 5/8" steel plate.

I've got a guy, and if I remember correctly he already has the flanges in CAD to do it...
I'll share his info if I can find it when I get back from Laguna. Did I mention it's going up to 86 degrees and sunny all day? Unreal weather here, I need dual citizenship...

There's a place called e-machine shop or something. I believe that's how Aaron had his flanges cut. They have a simple CAD program that you use and then you send them the file. They'll ship the part ot you.

We have a waterjet at work. I'd offer to help but we couldn't do that low of a volume. I love the waterjet, whenever I'm in the area of the building I always stop and look at it... there's nothing like seeing a stream of water (water and graphite to be exact) blasting through a 6" plate of 7075 aircraft aluminum. I guess 55,000psi will do that though.
What kind of tolerances are the your parts relying on? If they're pretty loose (a flange, etc) then waterjet would do fine, but if they are tight then you'd probably want them to be laser-cut.

Ahh....I am an R&D cutting and welding engineer. I do all the process development with robots so loading a prgram is not awlays the easiest but a trace is very simple for us to do. I would offer to cut it but unfortuntaely we are in the midsts of a large titanium laser welding program. Maybe next time.
