ON Just purchased a 1990 gxl na, need info MTO related

Simple question i suppose, I just dont have the answer myself. I just bought the car, I know a safety is mandatory, but what about e-test (ontario) and is there anything else I will need to get it on the road fully plated?? like an appraisal? Im not familiar with ontario regulations. Thanks everyone in advance

Yes, you need an e-test. No, you don't need anything else.

The e-test depends on where you live. Some areas are exempt from e-testing, but not too many. You will need the car safetied, and you may have to have it appraised to transfer it into your name being it is now 20 years old. Usually any car dealer can do an appraisal for you.

Oh right, I forgot about that appraisal thing. I did it when I bought my FC too.

The MTO in Brampton has a guy that they refer you to that comes to your house & does the appraisal right there...not too expensive, but can't remember the exact price. I'll see if I can find his number for you, if you live in that area.

The area where I live is e-test exempt. Bruce, Grey, parts of Huron county I believe. You'd have to check with the government on that one. I'm not sure what the boundaries are.
