Mechanic said it's the worst numbers he has ever seen. I'll be going for a conditional pass on the ground that I'll need a new cat which will price out above the $450.

The idle HC limit is 200PPM, I got 4,213. So close.

Bone stock. Relatively new rebuild, 124,000km [On the car, rebuild was about 105,000km]

Now I'm looking for a high flow cat.

Any suggestions for a vendor for my high flow cat? It's painful being Canadian sometimes, like whenever you pay for shipping from the states.

I would recommend checking if something is causing a rich mixture. It may not be just the cat not doing its job.

we should have a contest and see who's rotary gets the "highest score" when we go attempt emissions, and then just end up with a conditional pass

I was in the over-4000 range when I did mine.

I paid the fee for the "emissions analysis" and ended up with my conditional pass.

Does anyone have a used stock cat lying around? Apparently there are issues shipping a cat cross border, which would hinder my effort to get a Bonez unit obviously.

You could grab a magnaflow cat with the air tube since your bone stock and get it welded in? I picked one up off ebay from a supplier in toronto a few years ago for like 80$ shipped to my door (this was a 3" and I just welded it into my straight midpipe to be safe from mto). I am pretty sure that the rx7 store midpipe uses a magnaflow cat. Someone correct me if I am wrong?

Are you trying to get the car to actually pass or are you going for a conditional pass?

If you're trying to get a conditional pass, you're going about it the wrong way. If the repairs aren't done by a Drive Clean Certified Repair Facility, you're not eligible for a conditional pass.

Fix that vac leak and locate an oem cat or so. I passed smog but seriously, they need to except them now. It's not fair to us anymore

Not quite, my repair facility is going to buy the part for me directly from whichever vendor I choose and will place the cost on my invoice, so I'll get the highflow cat AND a conditional pass.

Anyone want to guess what Mazda quoted my mechanic for a new cat?
