Thanks 2Fierce.

Here is a link to my for sale thread incase you were interested. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=695686 . I can ship it to Ontario if you pay for shipping. Also, I'm pretty sure that in my for sale thread, I posted a link to the thread I created while I was importing my car. If you go to that link it should answer almost all of the questions that you need to know about importing a car.

so you did all the paper work by yourself ? what do you have to do after you got your car ?
i've heard that someone talking about getting a cumtome broker who can help you do all the paper work, is there any in ontario ?

You aren't going to want a customs broker in ontario. All of your customs work has to be done before the car is released from the port. I can't remember exactly how much mine cost but I think it was around $150 to get a customs broker. I thought that it was definatly worth it since a port will not allow a car to be released the same day that it clears customs. So if you were to do all of the work yourself you would have to fly down to Vancouver, do all the customs work, stay in a hotel which also would include massive cab fairs then go back the next day to get the car out of the port and either drive it home or fly back. But what you can do is get a customs broker to do all the paper work for you, and just have a delivery company go to the port and pick up the car. If you contact the port I'm sure that they have a certain delivery company that they usually work with who would be familiar with all of the paperwork that has to be done to actually get the car released. It really isn't that big of a hassle.

Once I got the car I didn't really have to do a whole lot. I only needed to put new tires on it for it to pass the OOP inspection. But that could be that on my way home from the port my engine blew and I spent a tonne of money on rebuilding it.

haha thanks. Priorities changed and work slowed down. When I decided to import the car work was booming and I didn't think I was going to have any problems with being able to afford the car. Then I had the crappy luck with the car and at the same time got myself a camping trailer and went halfers on a boat with a friend of mine. So after thinking about it for a while I realised that I won't really have much time to drive the car and would rather sell the truck I was driving along with the car and buy a diesel truck since it would be a lot better for towing the trailer/boat. I really don't want to sell the car. Everytime I drive the thing it puts a massive smile on my face. But to be realistic I don't really need to have it and the money could be used elsewhere. Thats why I'm taking such a big hit on it. I could always list it in the autotrader and probably sell it fast, but I'm not in a huge hurry to sell it and I would almost prefer someone on here to buy it since they would most likely take better care of the car and actually enjoy it instead of buying it just to look cool.

Thats probably a bit longer of a explanation then you wanted but I guess there you go. If you were ever interested in the car there are a couple people on this boared that can vouch for me as being a honest pereson and can vouch for the car and the shape it is in. Plus I can take more pictures/videos of the car if it helps you make your decision.

In all honesty, after importing the car and doing all the work myself, I probably should have taken everyone else's advice and bought a car locally that I could see/test drive that way I actually knew what I was buying and would give me a bit more peace of mind. In the long run you actually probably save a little bit of money by going that route. Although you can't really see or drive the car I can do my best to give you as good of an idea of what the car looks like/runs like.

Not uncommon, gonna be more blown fd's in the future. You get a car tuned for a different octane and sea level, then start pounding on it and pop! (I know however football wasn't "pounding" on his, he actually treats the car like a lady rather than a bitch). If I had an FD I'd grab that bitch by the ponytail and........well enough said...

I used www.japaneseusedcars.com when I imported my far. They were fairly good to deal with and out of all of the other companies that I talked with they probably had the best communication. Some of the companies were really hard to talk with and some took forever to reply. Another good site to check out is www.hasnihon.com. That site can sell you alot of cars directly that sites like importconcern and whatnot sell. If you want info on everything involved with importing a car just check out this thread I made when I got mine. https://www.rx7club.com/canadian-forum-42/purchased-1992-rx-7-anfini-614916/
