So for the last 3 weeks, I have been battling with a bad back. First time in my life that I have ever had back problems and I was feeling pretty old. So I went over to my other house to get something out of the garage ( my 4 way adjustable Morrisdampers to start working on putting into the wee beastie) and I moved a box of stuff and I started to feel all good again. Right there in front of me was a brand new set of Toyo RA1's on a set of mesh wheels.

I had completely forgotton about that set of tires as I used them only when I had the car on display and I wanted it to look a bit more retro. The wheels are 1/2 an inch wider han my white wheels as well. It was like a $1,000 gift and I can save that money and put it towards a couple of tanks of fuel for the Cougar.

Now they are full tread depth and I need to get them shaved, but they are sorta soft (3 years old) and all crispy edged, black and lovely. The only track time they have on them was when I drove my car down pit lane at the last Steelcase Indy to put the car on display at the Toyo Booth. they were new just before that weekend.

Now I just have to get them shaved as an intermediate and we are good to go in both the rain and sun. Whoo Hoo !!!!!!! Heck my back is barely hurting anymore. Somedays things just work out well.

thats an awesome story, kinda like finding bills in your pants pocket that you forgot you left in there x 1 million of course...lol.

 

I wish i could find a set of wheels in my closet with R-comps :P

 

Wow - finding a set of RA1's. I'm almost crying - those are my favourite tires!

 

Whenever I move stuff in my place I just find more stuff I didn't want to find.
