How much for and FD?

How much did you guys pay for your fd's?
I could search but theres lots of U.S$$

I would search on the internet but 1/2 of the posts are scams.
"I'm from belgum and the cars in Vancouver"
etc.

So sorry for the newb post, but I wouldn't mind knowing an Exact/approx price$
and can you still get theres imported by the dealers, so that i dont need to ****** safety it. Or do they still even have domestic LHD?

body shops are backed up the ***, and i dont feel like waiting to drive it once i save up enough cash. I'm really only asking so I can budget my money properly.

Thanks ahead of time Ken.
PS sorry again for this post. Just I would like to know.

You can get cheaper ones if you get a jdm BUT!!!!!!!!!! theres a LOT of scammers out there. lhd rx-7 are freakin rare, thats why they cost so much, and thats why the price gap is so big. The ones in great condition are so damn rare, they cost a lot more than those in average condition.

If you're interested in importing a jdm rx-7, I can refer you to a trustable person who works independently, and doesnt rip people off. He's my friend actually. PM me if you want some more info!

from USA--->YES.

I was selling a mint condition low mileage 95 stock R2 here and on autotrader -----> https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=678416

I received total about 38-40 low ball (<15k), 7-8 reasonable offers (15k-22k), 4 serious offer (25k asking price).

There's a huge price range because they'res a huge condition gap.

I paid $3700 for my first FD, it was crashed. :P

I paid $10k for my second one, it was disassembled.

I've imported two parts cars from the states too, one was $2500 and the other was $4000.

Any car in reasonable working condition can fetch $12k+, and decent cars start around $16-17k.

A low miles '95 R2 would fetch significantly more.

You're correct.. the '92 FD's were availble in Japan. I think the '92 rx7's in North America were still consider to be FC's.

Correct. In fact, there were no Rx-7 manufactured in the 92 model year in north america. Remaining 1991 FC stock was marketed and sold for the 92 model year in north america.

Aye thanks boys!!
Now i want a LHD FD
I heard their harder to come by.

now in comparision to the 92 to the 93, and the 94-95.
whats the major differences?

If i imported a 92 would it even by equivelent to the 95?
and it being my understanding 92 is the first yr the FD was released in Japan
were there lots of bugs with this car that they fixed in the later models?

no major bug

By the way, didnt you even notice that, in north america, 2007 models are available in 2006, 2008 models are out in 2007 and so on. In japan, if a car is out on december 2007, then it's a 2007.

Meaning that '93 UDMS FDs were available in '92. '92 JDM FDs were availe in '92 in japan.

Also, '92 and '93 models from japan are identical.

I was thinking about going threw Tyee.
but they sound stupid on the phone, I called about a 300zx.
and they didn't sound like they knew to much?!?!? :@
lol..but w/e. How hard is a imported RX7 to get safetied?
even though LHD is more convient.

I'll be lyke TOTALLY JDM on this one..

Go south and get yourself a clean one. I recently imported one...it's really not that bad. Start by going to www.riv.ca to get all your information. Then check out the 3rd gen 'vehicles for sale' section here for a deal that makes sense to you. Shipping from down south to Michigan for me was less than $700. I then drove to Michigan and picked it up. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat...especially considering the current exchange rate.

Yeah I would buy a nice one from the south.

But I know I can get one off tyee for 11,000-12,000.

some people want over 20k for their rex's
that they probably bagged.
to be completely honest for that price i'd get a supra tt.

go find one with a rebuilt motor from the states if u can.......it will be left hand drive........the exchange rate couldnt be better..........and u will come out way ahead ........trust me i know.......i am seeing more and more guys popping their jdm motors and having to sink the rebuild cash into these cars that they thought was gonna save them money.....they end up paying just as much for a rhd

importing from japan is just not the way to go when u look at the weakness of the american dollar right now.........and its alot cheaper to fly down to the states to pick the car up.........instead of buying sight unseen from japan

You can find JDM cars with freshly rebuilt engines too.. I don't see your point there...
