Hey Ontario, keep your crazy a$$ laws to yourself.

If anyone out there in the land of commies and babysitter states lives in the Scarborough - Agincourt Parlimentary Disctrict, can you please tell this ******* you're specifically going to vote against him.

http://karygiannismp.com/spip/

and then phone one of these guys

http://www.cbc.ca/canadavotes/riding/187/

preferrable the Conservative one, and tell him you're voting for him because you're in opposite to THIS ******* stunt.

Who cares if this law passes. Speed governors are easily defeated. The guy does look like a commie though.

Tractor Trailers are going to be required by law to have speed limiters here pretty quick. I think they are limited to 105. So expect in the future that everything will eventually be behind a day. There will be no such thing as rush delivery.

I wonder when the law will pass that tells us what cars we have to drive and when. Anyone with a last name between A and L has to drive a blue or red Ford between the hours of 9 to 4.

What a bunch of C*cksuckers. And they wonder why nobody votes.

"Vehicles used by emergency responders would be exempt from the legislation."

I think we should start buying all the older ambulances. a boosted 20B under the hood would scream just like a siren!!

Jason, Love that License plate!!!! LOL

^ Thanks L

Now that a federal election has been called remember to tell the Liberals to screw off when they come to your door campaigning. They were a partner to Fantino in the push for the Street Racing Law. I wonder if any party is actaully on the side of car enthusiasts?!?!?!?!

"Car Enthusiast Party of Canada" anyone? :p

So sick of this obsessive government interference when it comes to the roads. Safety is a concern for all of us, of course, but they're always coming down on enthusiasts who actually 1. drive responsibly and 2. know their car. Why don't you go after the pick up trucks that continually do 30-50 over the limit unsafely and create trouble cutting in and out of lanes, etc...

Well I own a car and a Pick up, and I can honestly say I know both, and the truck see's 30 over quite often, you are saying that I should basically limit my speed to 110 on the 400's? That seems a bit convoluted; and I would at that point be impeding traffic which can in some cases be worse. Speeding is speeding no matter the vehicle, sure some are more capable, but you can't go after one type... Wait... thats what they are doing now... kind of hypocritical if you ask me.

We have laws, they passed them, we have to follow them, sure they are bs, but oh well, it's no different with guns, sure there are bad apples, but they can't be few you base your opinion on of the entire group.

I was in Montreal over the weekend. It was a great feeling to know that some dumb cop cannot take my car regardless of what my speed was. Ontario sucks.

How would this be fair to Ontario Residence when anyone out of the province would be able to speed over that anyways since that rule is only for Ontario.

The thing with the trucks is they already have speed limiters, they just aren't activated on most trucks. My truck will do 110, but the rest of the company fleet is already limited to 105. The biggest reason for truck limits that most people forget is that fuel is at this time, the largest cost for a trucking company. The more fuel they save, the more money they make. I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but in the last year I've noticed a considerably smaller amount of trucks on the road. And just so everyone knows, loads won't be late because trucks can't go fast enough. If you give yourself enough time, you'll get there on time. I haven't been late once since starting with the company I'm with now.

One method of enforcing out of province vehicles ie: trucks, is to have them stop at an inspection station and have the limiter set by an MTO officer, or to have them switched by satellite at the provincial line. For cars it will be a big oh well. You can't have all of North American cars sold equipped with lower speed limiters.

None of this effects my current car, or any future cars. Ah the perks of loving classic styling.

What bothers me more is that this past labor day weekend, I was told by a cop that there was 130 cars pulled over for going over 50 and not one of them are the kind of cars they would label as a street racer. Nothing but ordinary cars, vans, SUV and pick up trucks. Not one of them got towed!

thats pretty much what has been happening ... all the "innocent people" as the media calls them are getting pulled over, but once you get a modified car getting caught, then the media says that the laws is working effectively. And even the people that have been caught for it and fought it, aren't getting charged for it
