anyone in calgary who has a greddy front mount how can let me take a look or come over and help me figure it out please txt me 403-875-0515.
there will be lunch in it for you lol.
i have looked at the greddy install instructions and i followed them to the letter. ive also looked at a couple install threads but they dont show detailed pictures of the piping fitment.

i understand how changing things about an engines set up without a proper tune for that set up (i.e injectors, turbos, ect) will cause the engine to "blow up" but an intercooler? ive never heard of that on anyother turbo vechicle. all its doing is allowing the car to breathe easier no different then if you put a cold air intake or an exhaust..

you are correct this is my first rx7 but im not some civic fan boy. i may not know about rx7s but i never said i did. im here asking questions trying to learn. i appriciate all the help and advice i received. i understand that rotaries are tempermental but all im saying is everything ive ever learned about turbod vehicles says that an aftermarket intercooler will not cause an engine to blow up. just from my own experience like i said there car is running great and i appriciate everyones help. thanks again.

The stock intercooler is a restriction and doesn't really supply much cooling. When you replace it with a giant Greddy intercooler mounted in the front of the car you have completely removed that restriction as well as added the ability for AIT's to change very quickly. The stock AIT sensor is slow reacting and gets heat soaked easily due to our extremely high engine bay heat. Your giant intercooler now can quickly radically reduce the air intake temperature which the AIT sensor will "lag" in what the ECU knows about how much air is coming in. Not to mention your getting increased flow which worsens the problem.
Everything you have learned about a turbo car that is not a rotary, throw it out the window. That is how rotaries have gotten their reputation. It comes from the inherent lack of knowledge because one assumes you can do the same thing you do on other cars on a turbo rx7.
I'm not saying your engine is going to blow up. It may run for a long time. But rest assured, you have increased the stress on the engine as it is now making more power which hasn't been compensated for. It's your choice what you choose to do with this information. This is an OLD forum by comparison. There is TON's of information at the click of a button if your interested in learning more about your car before bolting on parts on the stock computer and then regretting it later.
