gremlins in the 7 problems with power steering
So i put my car up on the hoist yesterday (figure FINALLY i will do my exhaust) and my cars been sitting for about half a year... not rotting, but just preserving, so that when i have time and money (funny thing about money is that it equals time..) i will get around to fixing everything. So as i move it, i see a puddle of what looks like oil and im like $#@!, i hope thats not me... turns out my return lines (or what looks to be return lines) for my oilcooler are rusted through. now, taking a smell of it, it does not smell like oil, but rather power steering fluid my uncle took a whif, and said its definitely power steering fluid...
so is it possible that the power steering fluid goes through the oilcooler? orrr is it its own little. tube setup (it looked like it all tied in, but i was too busy swearing to reallly take a goood look). is this an easy item to find cause the entire steel hose system is pretty messed so its all gonna need to be replaced...
BUt! i did manage to sawzall my exhaust off.. just gotta take of the headers.

It's most likely a corroded power steering cooler, which is a hard line that loops at the front of the car in front of the radiator and oil cooler. You can sometimes get away with cutting the rotted section and replacing it with a good quality section of rubber or it's probably time to replace the whole thing.
I had the same problem and tried to mickeymouse fix it about 3 times before I got so fed up that I had a new piece made. go to your local hydraulic hose and pipe maker and have them fab you one up from stainless, you'll never have to worry about it again.
havent been at home for a while finally got back to checking this today... wow
Okay so quick question went to the parts store, they had two different hose fittings, a 12MM and a 14mm i believe he said... does anyone know which one it could be without me having to rip things off?
Cheers,
Cody
