I think its beyond pretty cool that someone is finally marketing an event at Mosport. This would be a great event to attend on any of the days! We are giving it our full support.

Might go but might wait to register till after my Sigma Time attack to make sure nothing is broken. Just finished install a spherical bearing on the coil over (Those things didn't last very long) and new pads all around. (New boots on the pistons are required! Completely melted....)

More interesting developments for the weekend........Friday we will have the Scion TC for sure and possilbly the race car...with a passenger seat in it! We will have the pass seat in the car for sure on the Sunday. Also there will be 4-5 other race cars there to go for rides in then we will be doing a small demonstration race for the spectators out that day.

No, Snell M2005 helmet (or up), long sleeves, long pants, close toed shoes are requirements for street cars.
If you have a caged car, then you require a full fire suit.

I'll be there all weekend.

There are seven spots left. The price for the three days is going to be held at $495. Lapping Friday, Sat & Sun are competion events - lapping in morning and timed competion runs in the PM.

If you only want lapping then Friday, Aug. 26 lapping day (three groups, 9 to 5) and the price is $215. Instructor spots (additional $100) - there's one spot available.

This weekend is hosted by SPDA. Sat and Sun are ASN Canadian Time Attack Championships - lapping in the morning, competition in the afternoon. MMS marshals, EMT, flatbed on-site. This is a fully insured event.

The only question you should have is "Why haven't I signed up at that price?".

I would really like to attend, but on the Saturday I have the Championship Game for my Boys U-10 Soccer Team that I coach and afterwards the major end of season pool party for the kids and their parents. Its a major event for the kids and my son and I have to admit that my son and family takes precedence over racing.

I am planning to be out for the 1 Hour GT Challenge race on the saturday of Labour Day Weekend and the 3 Hour BEMC Enduro 2 weekends later in the RX7. I may need refuelers, so I will post then.

Hi All,

I'm Joe Trinidad, the president of SPDA and official at the CASC-OR level. It would be nice to see a strong contingent of RX7 / RX8 Enthusiast out on the weekend. On Sunday in particular we have TASR on site spinning tunes all day, I'll be on the MIC doing colour commentary and we're a friendly bunch, so come on out and enjoy the Time Attack, Show and Shine Competition and get a chance to take some charity rides in the morning of both days.

Looking forward to seeing you all.

(Thanks Al for letting me use your account).

So what time are people arriving. Going to go early so I can set up my car etc and get some track time. Since this is my first time with this group and i have no idea what problems I will encounter with inspection/classification, registration etc I will be there VERY early.

Well that was fun. Lots of track time. Took a while to get used to the Mosport Big track as I have been at the DDT for some time now. Man that track is fast.

Chewed up my toyo's so new tires will need to be ordered. Need to grow some ***** and learn to hit those corners faster.

Did a 1:45.5. Slow all things considered. Didn't stay around to see the final results and didn't run the 4th time attack as I thought I heard someone say it was over and by the time the announcement went I was already on jack stands..

Thanks for all of the work that goes into an event like this... O and thanks frank for sitting in the first lapping session......

O and this was in my 1989 Stock boost stock motor.... Falls flat on its face on the back straight

Nothing like a true Grandprix Track Ian, one of the best and fastest in North America, Now you know why Erik and AL take such a harsh stance when it comes to safety at MIR .
Thanks to all the organizers, corner workers etc. for all the hard work they put into these events....I will be competing in all the OTA events next year.
Great job OTA!!
