All the verts had it and the 86-88 Sport/GTU and the 89-90 GTUs...... at least in theory, because in theory all TII's were supposed to be have one as well

the t2 also had a steel hood. mazda threw aluminum hoods on tonnes of cars, no real model came with or with out one. i have seen bases with a aluminum, and steel, and gxl's with them and with steel. no real way to tell if it came with one or not, if you question it, take a magnet to it, or look at the hood hook for lack of a better term for pop rivets, if it's riveted it's aluminum.

The aluminium hoods were basically random. However, you have a greater chance of getting one on any early FC. Mazda was trying to save weight for higher mileage numbers. Sports, verts and the GTUs were also supposed to have them. TIIs had both steel and aluminium, randomly distributed.
