Faster... Than a Five Point Oh

Co-worker has a 1992(?) 5.0, whatever the last year of the square Fox Body is. Reall nice shape, less than 90k. Stock, other than a stainless exhaust. We lined up after work today (at a local private strip). I took the move on the first one, and blew him away.

I gave him the move on the next two. Passed him as he grabbed 2, and never looked back.

Chalk another one up for low compression S4 power.

5.0L Mustangs are slow. However, I watched a 2.3L turbo automatic Mustang run mid 11's last week.

My stock 19 year old 5.0 will still run a 14.0 on street tires with 800lbs front springs, -3 degress of camber with toe out in the front, set up for road racing! If we unhooked the front sway bar and ran smaller tires with a regular alignment it would be a low 13 second car out of the box. I havent met too many RX's that can run 14.0's in my life, lots that said they could but never seen them do it on the strip! I run ya with my 5.0 Jamie at cayuga! Hey! lets go on pinks!!!! (lol)

I have an FD that /ought/ to run a high 13...

and an FC that runs deep into the 11's :P

and my buddy has a near stock 5.0 that runs low 12's, that bastard.

Gears + intake + exhaust + nitrous = fast mustang. And all for under $1500.

Me and my "stock" RHD FC ran a 13.9 @99mph and thats shifting with my left hand! It's real awkward getting it into 2nd gear real quick.
and by "stock" I mean it still has stock turbo, stock ports, all the emissions still funtioning properly. My exhaust might be slightly larger and more free flowing than stock, but my dirty K&N probably flows about the same as a stock filter.....so I dont count that as being modified :P
