Sure, I'm always down for an excuse to have a party and make some ribs/pulled pork. Count me in - Also, Marco can stay with us provided we're still in the house.

I have spoken to Marco and he is now confirmed for the weekend of June 9th-11th. I'd say we will get his flight booked in early May. Marco also gave me a heads up that his pricing structure has changed.
RX8's
stock ecu N/A $400
stock ect turbo $500
aftermarket ecu turbo $600
RX7's
N/A anything $400
twin turbo power fc (no AI) $500
Everything else turbo $600
RX8's
stock ecu N/A $400
stock ect turbo $500
aftermarket ecu turbo $600
RX7's
N/A anything $400
twin turbo power fc (no AI) $500
Everything else turbo $600
The cost will be roughly double what I had in my head, but I'll still be up for it if I haven't been able to tune the car sufficiently by then
By mid-June I will have already driven the car at a few events, so it'll likely either be decently tuned OR I'll be desperate to have someone finish the job for me

i assume RX4 NA 20B is same as RX7 NA anything?
I need it tuned from start to finish. It's likely going in with a fresh rebuild having never run before.

Alright guys,
May is almost here so lets get ready to book Marco's flight. Who is ready to send funds for his flight? Once people are ready, I'll book the flight myself and ask everyone to reimburse me.

This is kind of ambiguous. You should probably spell it out so everyone knows what is expected of them. Are we all paying for the flight in addition to the tune and the dyno? How much is this? divided by # people signed up? number of people attending? You don't want to have 6 people signed up and then 3 show up and everyone has to pay additional money when they didn't know this and you don't want to be left paying for a whole flight yourself either.
Yes, flights are on top of dyno/tune cost. It will be split between all who are involved right now, if others come last min for tune then original ppl will get some money reimbursed and last min ppl will be charged partial payment for flights as well. That way everyone getting tuned is on the hook for same amount of flight cost for Marco
I'm probably out
At $400 (based on the numbers from the previous thread's intro) I was game, and then at ~$600 (dyno time extra) I was tentative, but at ~$800 (plus flights) I can't rationalize a touch-up tune
I would've said that from the beginning, but at the beginning I was under the impression that the cost was 50% of reality
If things go sideways and my car really needs help to work the way it should, I may be a last-minute addition, but likely not
Sorry guys

Marco's flight will be divided by the number of confirmed participants, once I book the flight I will ask to be reimbursed within 24hrs. Looks like we have 3 confirmed at this point, H_M, Simon and kylemo. If people show up during the event or people cancel beforehand, new participants will be or charged accordingly and existing participants will be reimbursed. The variables are Marco's flight and the dyno time, tuning is set so I advise that you have a good running and well put together car or you'll have to pay $80/hr for him to investigate while its strapped onto the dyno.
Dyno time is a case by case basis, somebody who is strapped to the dyno for 2 hours will not contribute to the cost of somebody's dyno time of 4 hours.
This group tuning session is an opportunity for several people to share the cost of a reputable tuner. I think this route is cheaper than bringing a car from NS to Marco in ON. Other benefits are the reduced dyno cost, this event is a 20% off of the regular dyno rate and the fact that Pinkracer has kindly offered to give Marco a bed to sleep in.
I am not booking any flights until the people interested confirm with me, hence the request.
Let me know if you have any additional questions. Thank you.

If you are ready for me to book Marco's flight and are aware of charges you will incur (flight, tune, and dyno) please add you name to the above list. I won't book until I hear ya or nay from the remaining interested people mentioned before.

I don't recommend it but if the dyno portion is what's swaying your decision, you could always go out on Highway 103 and street tune it. Again, I don't recommend or condone it but I'm just throwing it out there.

No worries. I'm sure Marco wouldn't mind if you swing by and ask questions in regards to your tune and setup. Either way, you should show up and hang out with some other rotorheads.
