So I guess all those airplanes that land at the Dunville airport have to glide in with the engine off as to not disturb the residents.
(I know a race track is louder, just making a point... )

ya thats not cool at all. that website is nasty.
i wish there was a place to insert my opinion on that tho. lets close down all the race tracks around so ppl can start racing on the street once more.... lets see how many more ppl die if racers bring it back to the street. i know theres more tracks around but shoot where i come from theres no race track for 9 hours. ppl find roads to drag and drift on.
i dont under stand ppl some times.

Lame. I bet those same people bitch about the noise of the airplanes too, or will if they're successful against the track - been lots of that here in Calgary over the years - the International has been in the same place since WWII, when it was miles from the nearest communities. Then communities built steadily closer to it, and around it, and the residents bitched about the airplane noise! So depending on the wind and what runways are in use, aircraft have to take some pretty hard manoeuvres to climb and zig around residential areas.
The Calgary Sports Car Club autocross program had the same problem with a venue we had in Red Deer a few years ago - a noise complaint got us shut out from using the large parking lot at the arena. Which was rich, as a busy, divided 4-lane road and several hundred metres of buffer and hill were between the lot and the residential area, and loud diesels roar by every couple minutes (southern Alberta is the heart of huge, cowboy wannabe, red-neck pickups, where every second vehicle on the road literally is a pickup, and seemingly every second one of those has a 6-inch exhaust so loud they have to shut it off to order their latte at the Starbucks drive-thru on the way to soccer practice - [rolls eyes] has been chipped so it dumps so much fuel that it spews a black cloud under even light throttle, because hey, we make the f***in oil and it's cold here in winter, so bring on global warming - /rant), and there's street racing on that road nightly - but street legal (for the vast majority) cars autocrossing one at a time during the day on weekends was intolerable apparently. Probably the squalling tires of the odd car on street tires could be heard occasionally above the roar of diesel pickups.
Those people will love it when night time street racing goes up in their area because another track has been shut down. Retards
