Is that rule for real, about passing only on the back straight?

In my experience its more of a general guideline. The courteous drivers will signal AND give you and opening to pass on one of the other straights if they see they are holding you up. However, if they don't let you pass on anything but the back straight, you have no right to complain since they don't have to. You have to remember lapping days are to have fun a little with your car, not to race.

Good, that's what I was hoping it is. They just seem to make a point to emphasize how STRICTLY they prohibit passing anywhere outside of the back straight.

PS: I love your car - my favorite color and one of my favorite automotive shapes. And it passes almost as much gas as me!

Any one going - May 31st Dunnville Autodrome lapping (Sunday)
Hey Marco a budy of mine said he met with you on the 3rd, (He drives a Mini). I was about halfway there before I got pulled over and got a stern warning for not having a Cat, let me go without a ticket. That ended my day.

How did the cop know you didn't have a cat? Was it a straight pipe or did you have a resonator/silencer? You can just say its a high-flow cat as long as its not hollow.

Yah, the mini let me use his tools cause I brought the wrong one. I won't be at the May 31st one, ill be at Cayuga (CSCS)

He heard me. I run 3" all the way to my muffler. He pulled me over, asked the usual stuff and bent down on one knee. I am glad I did not get a ticket, I heard its a couple hundred buckaroo's.

You should get a resonator. It quiets down your car a tad, doesn't affect performance, and you can claim its a hi-flow cat.

Yeah I bought one this week. Do you think it will pass as a high flow cat?

If he just bends down on one knee and you say with confidence it is, 90% of cops won't know the difference. It's better then them bending down on one knee and seeing a straight pipe. Also, your exhaust will be a tad quieter so you might not attract that kind of attention.

Cool, its worth a try. Are you competting in Cayuga?
I looked at the website, it looks pretty interesting. I have never been before, so I guess for me it will be a tossup between Dunville and Cayuga now. I let you know if I am comming to Cayuga, maybe we could hookup.
