Do the Canadian spec 2nd Gens as a general rule come with the Headlight sprayers? I know there are some subtle differences, so wondering if that is one of them.
Thanks
Thanks
My, understood to be, Canadian spec GX (American SE) doesn't have headlight squirters. When I first purchased the car, I looked into the options it could have come with through the 2nd gen FAQ, and I know my car wouldn't have existed in the US, but I can't remember why.
Although this is totally irrelevant, but when I ordered my RX7 there were a lot of differences between a car purchased at a Canadian dealer as compared to an American one and it had nothing to do with the factory.
During early 1978 I was at the laundramat with my wife when a friend,a 240Z guy, Peter Wright walked in with the latest copy of Road and Track. He said, "Tom, you gotta checkout this new Mazda!" Next day the wife and I put $200 down on a new sports car. Picked it up in May of '78. Each dealer in Canada got five cars and the next shipment was not scheduled till fall. We were young with not a lot of money sowe ordered zero dealer options (ha, one speaker for the radio) and there were no factory options available. We paid $9,400.
Two weeks later we drove to Mid-Ohio for an IMSA Camel GT race and we were mobbed by gawkers. I never did see another RX7 on the trip. At any rate, and I heard this from several people that US dealers would not sell the cars without adding, stereos, air con, floor mats etc, etc. and the lowest price I heard was over $14,000. Not to mention their dollar was worth more.
cheers

I noticed one Car I had,it was equipped with the headlight sprayers.I thought it was an Option on all models though.I never though of it being a Canadian or USA thing.
(...Real difference though is a CDN car will smell like Bacon, and the US car will smell like Coors Beer!)

I know the windshield reservoir doesn't hold a gallon. Anyone know what the holding capacity of the headlight reservoir?

My 87 GX doesn't have headlight washers, and it wasn't an option at the time. Don't think there were any "factory" options available, only "dealer installed" options like AC, rear window louvers etc.
My 87 turbo, however does have headlight washers (both Canadian cars). The Turbo was a very early production model (actually built in '86) built prior to ABS being installed. Rear window wiper/washer was standard on the Turbo and GXL.
Had a look at the 87 brochure, and could see no reference at all to headlight washers.

I have headlight washers on my car and yes the reservoir seems to hold more fluid in it. Don't ask me why they did that. I think the opening to pour in is even bigger. haha
