DGRR 2016 Canadian Adventure

I know this is super early for a DGRR thread, but for what I'm planning for getting interest early is key. I want to get a good crew together to go down next year. I've been looking at some very amazing cabins that hold 10+ people, but I need lots of interest to make this happen. I'm also planning on staying for the following week after the event. There is so much more to see and do in that area that time just doesn't allow for when you just go for the weekend. I'm also entertaining the idea of renting a large cabin for the weekend and then getting a smaller one for the rest of the week as I realize not all people would stay down the whole week. Here is a like to some of the places I've looked at to give an idea.

The Dock House Luxury on Lake Nantahala, NC United States, North Carolina, Topton | Rent By Owner

There are tons of other options for cabins as well that I can post up later. So who's in?!?!

Depending on the departure date, I think I may be up to it! I'll subscribe to the thread, but I agree, the key is to set a plan in stone well in advance.

Obviously nothing would be set in stone until the date for the event is decided. This thread is just to get interest and see who all would want to go. I can book the cabin and everything and have people pay in advance before we leave.

Those are some pimp accommodations.
If I manage to get my finances in order I'll definitely be down to go again.

I'm not sure what parking is like. There are tons of other awesome cabins available too that are a bit more affordable than that one. Also I'm not sure at that time of year what the lake level will be like as the reservoirs are usually low yet from being drained over winter. When I get a chance I'll post links to the other front runner cabins we have looked at. Cabin selection also depends on how may people are for sure 100% in for the trip. No sense renting a huge cabin and then only getting a few people that actually go.

Like I said before, yes it is really early. I just want to get an idea at this point if there is enough interest out there to even make this a possibility and to get the word out. No lame excuses of "well I didn't know soon enough".

Too early for me to commit, thinking of doing what I did this year Deals Gap with a trip down the blues trail in Mississippi instead of Memphis.

Good to see more interest in the trip. Once the date is released I will start planning more for this and figure out more cabin options. There are lots out there that are pretty awesome.

Haha if I wasn't allergic to shellfish

No joke though, I had a big BBQ bash at our cabin last time and I'm happy to do it again! I'm quite a good cook, I'm told.

This is who we stayed with the last 2 trips down. Once the dates are announced, we're going to book our cabin.
