As I'm itching to take my rx8 back out from winter...an idea came to mind.

I am willing to organizing a couple of 'rotary specific' track days at either;

Shannonville Motorsport Park (SMP)

Toronto Motorsport Park (TMP)

if I have enough interest. Will need a minimum of 15 'pre-paid' cars to be able to organize any track day event.

Once my engine is in the car I can commit. Otherwise all I can say for me it would be SMP or the new DDT.

In for a Summer SMP date

I may be in as well depending on the date, cost, track and the rules. If we would be going to SMP, what track configuration would you be using? Ambulance in attendance? Long Track, Pro Track, Fabi or Nelson? All have very different car requirements, value and experiences. Also, I heard about 2 weeks ago that SMP only had 2 days still available for this summer so it would be interesting to see what track and dates you can get.

I am not interested in going to TMP as I barely get out of second gear there.

I don't know the original poster at all, so before I get any deeper I just want to know a bit more. There are lots of days already scheduled as lapping days at both tracks and I don't see any value, personally, in going out and having restricted passing zones or trying to go fast and spending most of the lap having to wait for wave by's.

Thanks for everyone's interest. My apologies for being MIA for the last week as work got crazy.

I've got 30+ people interested and will be sending out a survey to those who provided me their email for to do some polling of Dates & Track/Configuration.

Base on the interest I've read so far, we have group that want to do track and so that just want to come out and chill. Both groups are welcome. I've got rotary junkies in the amateur racing scene that might bring their track monsters out. Please stay tune to this thread.

Top respondents like to have this track day on;

- Saturday (for a full day) at SMP for the cost of $70-130

Here is the current availability & rental cost of SMP;
- First available Sat is in late August 2014
- Cost for a weekend rental is $6780 (tax in)

2 options will be most likely;

Option A (82% Poll):
- Full Day at SMP on a weekend in August = $226 per person if and only if we get 30 cars

Option B (41% Poll):
- 2hr session at SMP on Friday event in May/Jun/Jul = $75 per person if and only if we get 20 cars

A new survey will be sent to get polling results.
