Talking #23 Is Ready to Rock and Roll, Finally!!!!!!

We'll be there as well. We have finally found the problem with the ignition and should be ready to rock and roll for the last CCTCC race weekend I will be allowed to run in the car.

Who knew ignition dwell time could take a car that has advance and make it ATDC. You learn something new every day.

Angry

Anybody who wants to see RX7's racing in the CCTCC should come out this weekend. Most of the cars will be gone for next season.

What a great way to spend my birthday on Sunday. If I'm not hung like a cheap painting I'll come out and help Can Saf again. I guess it's the sprints for everyone next year? Yikes... Considering we'll have 1 first gen plus non-mazda rotary powered cars, 6-7 second gens and 2-3 third gens I think CASC should have a two or three class, rotary dedicated race each club weekend. I'm not sure I'm interested in being out there in 60 car fields every weekend sitting mid pack in GT-B or GT-C..

We plan to be there Sunday again, I just hope it goes better than 2 weeks ago! We plan to run both GTB and G70 so we will have 4 races in one day. Seems like a better option to me than 3 races in 2 days for the same money! We plan to use this as a Mosport test day, as we made some big changes again and hope to hell it works!

What a weekend.

Friday
Went to the open test day to break in the new motor.
In every session it seem to rain 5 laps into it. We stayed as long as we could out in the shaved tires until it was to bad.

Last session of the the day started rain hard just before we wanted to go out so we put the rains on and went out. we were the only car on the track I guess nobody had rain tires.

Saturday Practice
Took it a little easy because we didn't get much time on Friday to break in the motor.

Saturday Qualifying
When out for about 7 laps and only got about 1 clear and posted the fastest time in Qualifying 1:29.035 for pole

Saturday Race
Started along side of a Turbo Bmw (yellow) Green flag and he got a jump with all that power and it was back and forth the whole race he would pull about 6-8 car lengths on the straight and than we would close the gap going in to corner2 until the straight.

We finished 1st with our fastest time around mosport with a 1:28.618 with 60 pounds over weight (too Much Gas) the yellow bmw got DQ for ride height. (car was to low)

Saturday night had to go back to the shop and change the clutch because it started slipping on the last lap. Checked the diff as it didn't seem right so we rebuilt that to..

So Sunday mourning warm-up
Went out to see if everything work good. On the first lap out 1st gear was good changed to second and It was starting to slip and than 3rd was good and than changed to 4th and wouldn't come out. So pull back into the pits.

So We have 3hours till green flag
An now have to change the trany and diff on the ground. Had to change the diff because the ratio was different to the other trany we are putting in.

SO we finished 30mins before the race.

Sunday Race
green flag
it was off an on with caution flags this gave that turbo bmw time to get back into 3rd place by the 3rd caution.

So back at it again for 5 laps he gets 6-8 cars on the straight and we get him coming down 4 until the middle of the straight and he blows by than the next lap he is getting a little mad and changes lanes down 4 and we take the outside and than cut into 5 and cuts back in and takes him self out and brakes the wheel them off our rim. so pull it into the pits and that's the end for us slitter pushed under the car with not much laps left.

I have some video. The one with the misshap on turn 5B with the yellow BMW. Also the one incident that took out the ottawa FD team. (First lap bumper cars.)

This was by far the most all out war race weekend I have seen yet.

Can't wait to see next years action. I feel like I need a car to go out and track too since I am there every weekend as well. LOL

Thanks for posting the vid.
