You have to sign two waivers - the first one at the entrance to the track (Race City) and another at the black pickup that is set up as a base station (Porsche Club). The cost is free to spectate and $40 to run.
P.S. Also, no touching cars that don't belong to you, etc.

i thought knocking off the points just means that your licence will not be affected. points have nothing to do with insurance, it's the violation they care about. speeding. i was told that even if you get the points removed it will still show up. im gonna make a call and find out for sure.
It might depend on the particular charge... Either that or you were just misinformed.
For speeding, when they take off the points, they are essentially convicting you of a different offense - one that doesn't have a points penalty and one that doesn't show up for insurance companies. It's the same law that they charge you under for multinova. Since they can't prove that you were actually driving your own car, they charge you with 'being the registered owner of a speeding vehicle', and as such, it won't go affect your record because you were not convicted of speeding, strictly speaking. If you've ever heard anyone say "I'm gonna try to get registered owner" with respect to a ticket, this is what they're saying.

if your ticket results in 3dimerits, most of the time they will take 2 off, if it resulted in 4dimerits, your lucky to get 2 taken off....
if it's more then 2 you will almost NEVER get away with taking them off, period....
this is for speeding tickets anyways....

Thanks Crymson. "Changes introduced Tuesday in Calgary and province-wide this week mean drivers can still bargain for a lower fine and fewer demerits, but the province is outlawing the practice of removing the points entirely."
So I guess a guy can still try to get the fine lowered, but now there's no hope of getting registered owner. So the only recourse is to go not guilty and try to get out of the ticket entirely.

Yah, i think that's what they're saying.
It's kind circular beaurocracy though. It would be logical to assume that the reason they introduced the practice of being able to remove demerits and plea down infractions without a trial was because the courts were becoming clogged with frivalous (in relative terms, not frivalous to offenders) traffic cases which ate alot of rescources and time, of both officers and judiciary officials.
I really think that they're overestimating the average calgarian's apathy though, or rather "take it up the ***" - athy.
People are going to be going to court in droves because 1) Calgarians get ticked really heavily, and 2) people are sick of it.
I bet this will be reversed in a year or two, or there will be some kind of middle ground, or a whole new court system devised.
Insurance companies can only raise your rates after youve had a driving conviction (correct me if i'm wrong?), so if the courts are clogged the hell up, and you have to wait a year to get your "conviction" by trying to plead not guilty, you probably saved yourself 1000$ right there.

Well, I had "Points" fight (negotiate) my ticket for me. I went from a $420 stunting ticket with I think 6 or 8 demerits, to a $115 noise offense with "no demerits", score 1 for the good guys!
