Sounds like a good idea but coming so close on the heels of our last meet (which was in September) the turnout might be better if we simply chose a cental location with a ready supply of food and bevs. I'm thinking there'a a burger joint (A&W or Burger King?) on McLeod Trail somewhere south of 42nd Ave that may or may not have an open cover over the parking stalls, but I'm not sure.

If we pick a weekday evening or a Saturday morning we'd be their main body of customers and providing business for them at an otherwise slow time period. I've driven by there on occasion and noticed other car meets taking place.

Yeah, only problem is that I'm not sure the location I first mentioned is the one that had the covered parking stalls so I changed the above post to reflect this. I'll confirm once I've driven by there again, unless anyone can positively verify the restaurant and location.

It's probably best to avoid underground lots at malls because finding a large enough lot area with no other cars contaminating the meet is difficult and the underground lots themselves are too dark and dingy.

As for a time to hold the meet, why not make it a week night (after most of us are off work--- too many of us seem to have other commitments on weekends) sometime next week? I'm thinking Tuesday the 25th at 6pm. That's nine days from now and still leaves us with about one-and-a-half hours of daylight.

OK, I just got back from a recon cruise and the restaurant that I remember from before (the one with the covered stalls, where I'd seen the classic car meets) was *****'s on the Northeast corner of McLeod and 39th. (Their building had the same colour schemes as that of A&W and Burger King, hence the confusion). This *****'s restaurant is now out of business.

So we need to come up with a different one, and my cruise all the way down McLeod to Shaugnessy turned up no others with the aforementioned covered stalls.

Theres some resturant the Miata club meets in the south at. In the winter, we have breakfasts every sunday instead of drives. We selected this one place, its supposed to be good. I'll check it out and report back. Its near that new douglasdale overpass or something off deerfoot.

After having found this area of the forum I'd like to get out an meet all you guys, so hopefully I can find the time for whenever it gets set.

Peter's might be an option. There'd be other customers but on off-hours those lots on the other side of the drive-through lane are usually pretty empty. Have those picknick tabels over there, and some good burgers. I think it'd work better there on a weekend rather than at supper on a weeknight though... Just a thought...

The FD doesnt have insurance at the moment, so it might be there, it might not. If my friend finishes tuning his FC I might be by in that. I work and he goes to school so a set date would help out alot.

Even if some car can't coem it's still and event just to meet other drivers.
Though i don't think peters would work, beign as it is getting cold outside.

I can't remember the name of the place but they is a resturant/pub on 16 halfway between crowchild and north hill mall. The Trappary pub... noo... the Trueassures pub??nope... i can't remember, kind of an old english looking building. if has underground parking, though it's not quite level and might be too rough from some cars, my car was fine going in and out.

I like Peter's better but I'm game with A&W. Looking forward to it; I just hope nothing else comes up that causes me to miss it.

Would you guys mind terribly if I showed up?

I'm not an rx owner yet, and I would appreciate meeting some of you guys and seeing your cars?

If it offends you, i'll park the lancer a block away and walk in
