Agreed, but since the 24th already has a large number of can't-make-its I've put it to a vote. That way, once a date has been locked in based on those results we'll know we've done our best to accomodate the best turn-out. Also, others have indicated that Fathers' day (June 17th) is no obstacle for them. If that turns out to be the best date we can avoid July altogether --- weather permitting.

Brett has a nice *** BBQ now, as well as many accessories.

He also, no longer has an over-excited golden retriever.

Regretably, I wouldn't be able to make June 24th, as I have an autocross to run at Race City (as in, not just participate, but actually run it!). Whatever date is chosen, there's bound to be people who can't make it, so don't be too concerned.

Well, it's certainly adequate, but not top-of the line by any stretch. Not much in the way of stainless steel, side burners or a rotisserie. But it does have the side tables so that'll come in handy.

He also, no longer has an over-excited golden retriever.

Exactly five days after the last BBQ the dog was adopted by a couple of gay guys.

We're working on it. On that note, we need to pick a date soon for this very reason. I'm sure others will want to plan ahead too. I'm thinking let's give it until this Sunday at noon for some feedback and then we can choose a date that will be official and locked in.

So far the date that seems to work for the fewest number of people has been June 24th. I think it's safe to assume that one's out. But a couple have indicated that June 17th is ok, and July 29th works for Shauno.

Yeah, do it. If you leave Saskatoon at 6am you can be in Calgary before noon, and after the meet wraps up around say, 6pm you could be back to Sask before midnight. Or you could catch a spare bedroom and leave the following morning bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.

It looks like July 29th is the day. If the weather craps out we can go with August 5th. (Even Ed should be able to make that date. I'm guessing he'll be doing a rain dance prior to the 29th in order to bring this plan B into being). This should give everybody enough time to get their calendars straightened out and their 7s running flawlessly.

I'm so busy tomorrow I won't have time to catch my breath let alone sit at a computer, but sometime on Sunday I'll post (and request a sticky for) a new thread with that date on it. All in favour say "aye." All opposed, scratch your *****.

Ok, so it's now Sunday afternoon (I've finally recouperated from an all-work-no-play Saturday and have found my way back to the computer) and the sparse smattering of definite votes leaves us pretty much where we were one week ago: Picking a date that sounds safe and leaves everyone time to plan.

None of those dates work for everybody, but the Sunday, July 29th option gives the most planning time and tends to have more favourable and predictable mid-summer weather, so let's go with that.

I'm now posting a new thread stating the new (and final) date, so we can simply let this old thread die from natural causes.
