Cage in progress.

Stopped by the shop today to test fit myself to see if the seat needs to be dropped and I took a few pics of it in progress while I was there.

Nice, you're getting serious about the racing eh? Im assuming the cage is required for a class your going to run in?

Will it be left bare steel or painted?

Would like to get serious about it...even if I never end up racing, I think it's a good idea since I spend so much time at the track. The tube and welds will be painted. Next year, I'll have to come to you for some spot rust repair and paintjob.

Nice. Tons of work there.

I like how they welded a plate completely around the rear strut tower.

The rear shock tower reinforcement was really really well done. I forgot to take a pic of the other one that was already complete - the one I did take a pic of was just getting started.

Looking good, I wish my rear drops were that clean.

By the looks of your plates that cage will meet CASC regs.

Hmmm...

Shane, its a work of art! Raven does great work and I really like the rear shock tower reinforcment and the main hoop plate work.

Excellent stuff. You will be safe for sure.

The irony is after the cage, I'll be even more afraid of crashing after spending the cash.

What are the exact CASC regulations for a cage?

Balzz, do you mind me asking approximately how much this cost you?

Hey Al, it's Shane. No intrusion bars yet since I have to keep the car street legal for now - it'll just have a gusseted X-brace across the doors. A year or two down the road, I'll add the ladder bars.
