Buy Great Autos.com?
Anyone heard of these guys or dealt with them?
I took an ad out in the AutoTrader and it must've been published today. (No, the FD isn't for sale...yet) I've had a couple phone calls about the ad, and one of them was from a guy from Buy Great Autos. He guaranteed me he could get my asking price within 90 days if I was willing to pay a commission. The commission wasn't cheap, but it was worth listening to his spiel. (It works out to 6.3%)
I listened to his pitch, and it doesn't have a real big upside for me. He's guaranteeing he can sell my motorcycle within 90 days or I get my money back. So, I can have my money back and I can try to sell a motorcycle in December... Also, if I sell the motorcycle on my own, presumably the money is gone.
One other thing... I told me he had 4 qualified buyers lined up, but what I actually seem to get is a web-based ad that lasts for 90 days. If he has buyers lined up, why do we need the ad?
So, I'm just curious as to what experiences other people have had. At best, this outfit seems to be quite opportunistic. (Drumming up business by calling people who advertise with the competition seems underhanded) At worst, it smells fishy.

Total scam, I didn't even have to read the thread to know what they want. I've read threads of people who worked for these guys. Basically, they're given an autotrader for a city, and they phone every ad. The fine print makes it next to impossible to get your money back.

It's a dirt bike - 2002 Honda CRF-450. It's on the Trader, obviously. It's a lot of fun, but I really don't get any use out of it. My wife and her family are into quadding, and the places they go to are just not appropriate for dirtbiking.

Yeah, I get some pressure from the family to buy one, but I really don't think it's my bag. It's a lot of money to spend on something that I'm really not that much into. My wife loves it though. She;s happiest when her quad is so muddy you can't tell what colour it's supposed to be.

LOL
We have these friends that are into Jeeping. They have a YJ on 35's. Well, buddies wife is really a command person so she always drives. I kid you not, something breaks on that jeep everytime they go out. Usually the brand new clutch.
That Jeep has the best of everything and is only used 4x4ing. No city driving.
The YJ broke last long weekend, surprise, and they went into town to buy an $8000 quad. The first day they had it, she comes back into camp with a cracked block. She got stuck and overheated it. It even has a winch on it for such occasions. Im $20 richer because I called it that she was the cause of all these breakages.
10 Years and I dont think shes learned very much.
