myself and a few other car guys in Calgary are planning a Banff cruise on June 30th.

the plan is to drive out there via highway 22/40/742 its a nice canyon road the drive time is ~2.5-3 hours depending on conditions.

the plan thus far is
meet at Sobeys McKenzie Town 10:30 am
depart for banff 11:00 am
arrive in Banff ~2:00pm

grab lunch, shop, w/e then head back (i dont expect a big convoy going back but im sure you can find someone else heading back at the same time)

I dont think I've met anyone on this forum yet, but I'm certainly interested to and to get to know some good twisty roads.

 

If it wasn't in Alberta I'd join you for sure, have fun and ignore the scenery.

You're forgetting where we live. Its Alberta, my lifted truck has a hard time getting around.

Great drive! and the road should be fine. I used to love driving from Calgary to Jasper when I lived there.

im going to push the event back a month or so, the route was through longview ect the roads are pretty bad there and ive heard that even in the mountains there are a lot of mudslides and stuff from the rain, no need to risk it for a drive.

 

Perfect opening for time in my schedula for some volunteer time then!

Oops, missed that this was being pushed back. Will probably be on vacation then, but couldn't have gone this weekend anyway, since I'm a little tapped due to not getting paid (employer still shut down due to flood damage).

Wow, this is really tempting to join if you guys go. I was hoping for a drive out to Banff next summer... but time permitting I might join you guys! Although, I'll be going to Japan for most of August. If you guys go next year, count me in!
