anyone in/or near cambridge have 2 1/8" socket?
anyone in/or near cambridge have 2 1/8" socket?
I need to take the flywheel off my 13b, and was wondering if anyone had the correct socket that I could use. I have the engine in the trunk of my daily driver, so I could come to you to remove the nut. If anyone could help me out that would be great.
I won't be around this weekend, but next week in the evening would be best.
Thanks,
mike

I didn't think you could get electric impact guns with that much torque.

The impact gun I use is just a standard Princess Auto unit. Always on sale for like $70. It's rated at 250 Ft-lbs, but generally has no problem breaking free the flywheel nut and front hub nut.
DeWalt makes some electric impact guns that go to about 1500 ft-LBs, and the aren't overly expensive.

Princess Auto doesn't sell a 2 1/8th" or 54mm socket. They go as high as 2" and 50mm only.
when I took my last engine apart, I broke the flywheel nut loose with a basic campbell hausfeld air impact gun without a problem. IIRC they are only rated for about 100-150ft-lbs.

I'm fairly sure my local surplus store has them for $9.99. At least, that's where I got mine. They aren't impact though...I'll check next time I go by and see if they are still in stock.

Pay a visit to Essential Speed and see if they'll loan you one if you leave a deposit or something.
