I'm considering purchasing a rhd mr2 located in Montreal. If there is anyone who knows what they are doing, and can check out/test drive this car for me, I'll compensate you for your troubles.

Hey, I'm from Montreal, I'm not a pro to check the car out, however I suggest you check out our local website: clubrxquebec.com Some guys will be able to help you out big time! (Lots of knowledge and many people do all their rotary work). Hope this helps.

thanks! that does help. so far though i've been told by a broker that there is only one company that will insure a rhd car, and my quote for this car was 250/month. i currently pay 100 per month for my honda civic, so that's pretty outrageous.
im still calling around though. i really want this car!

Check it carefully - it looks like a recent repaint - originally red, in the front compartment and where some was missed on the rear license surround. Odd to see overspray and poor details, yet the inside of the doors and jambs have been done. Just saying it raises some flags for me.

Thats stupid!!!! I pay $130month on a 1999 Integra, and that everything but collision...
when I added my FD, it put it up to $240 month (just PLPD on 7, otherwise a $5000 deductible)
why is insurance so costly out there for you...? I even have a few speeding tickets to my name...

yeah the repaint is the main thing i'm worried about. since they failed to paint under the hood, and missed a spot at the license plate, makes me wonder why it was repainted likely very qiuckly and cheaply.
also, the driver's headlight isn't lining up with the hood.
as far as insurance, i can't believe what some of you guys pay! but then again back when i was 21 or so, i had a TII rx7 and paid 400 a month. but i had a lot of tickets back then.
im 36 now with a clean record. and like i said i pay 100 a month for a 2000 civic basic coverage. im pretty shocked they want 250 for the mr2.
still shopping around though when i get a chance!

I had an MR2 when I was younger. They are not good in the snow despite the engine being over the wheels. Of course it wasn't any worse than the pickup truck and 5.0L mustangs I had either

this car wouldn't see winter. that's what the civic is good for
i also had a fiero. that thing sucked ***** in any condition, but especially in the winter, which i drove it exclusively one year.

I've always like the 88 Fiero. Prior to purchasing the FD I was trying to find a Fiero with a v8 swap. That lead me to the FD with a v8 swap, and finally to the FD with a rotary.
I started out looking at a vehicles that were inexpensive and some how ended up else where
