Anybody need any parts from Re-speed.com?

Hey Guys,

Just curious if anybody needs any parts from Re-Speed.com? This is mostly first gen parts. I'll be doing a big order near spring time and the bigger we go the more we can save. I'm willing to drive down to the states and pick up the order to save on all the customs charges and some shipping charges. If you guys aren't familiar with the site here it is:

http://re-speed.com/

Now if you need something and are serious, I plan on either taking deposits (say something like 20% of the parts cost) now, and then pay the rest before shipping out, or I can get Billy the owner to possibly organize something for the payments (maybe just through the site or something).

Anyways like I said this will be for spring time or just a bit before then, so you have plenty of time to consider things.

I might be in need of some stuff from them as well. It would be nice to put their brake upgrade kit on my Rx-4.

Roughly when in the spring were you thinking about doing this? I'm trying to get the Rx-4 ready for DGRR. Hopefully this buy would happen before that.

Actually never mind about the time frame. I just realized that FC 4 piston calpers and rotors probably wont fit behind 13" wheels. I'd have to upgrade wheels but I'm not going to be doing that right away. I'm still gonna go in on the buy. They have lots of other fun goodies I could use.

Tax return time would be the best for most of us, and certainly would for me. I won't have the money to buy anything from RE-Speed without my return.

When is normally tax return time? And by time I mean having your checks in and not when can you just submit them in. I'm trying to remember but can't. I don't know about the rest of you but I normally just do them online, and have them done as soon as I get all my Tax papers in.

I'm going to try to do it to accomodate as many people as I can, and can possibly order a few things for a few people and keep it on hold with me (provided you gave a deposit of some sort) and then just give me the rest when you get the money on hand.

If everybody can list the things they want on here so I know what kind of things I'll be ordering that would be great. Also if one of the parts that you're ordering has the choise of color for powder coating list that beside it.

Tax return time varies depending on how fast the employer is with getting the T4's out. I got mine around the beginning of April this year, but my return got held up due to Canada Revenue being extremely busy. I think I'll sign up for automatic deposit this year to save some time. May would be a good ballpark to aim for.

My list

R&P steering conversion with ALL the bell's and whistles and 15:1 quick ratio rack. (red)

That's the priority. If my return is enough these parts will be added in this order.

Front race coilovers with 275 or 300 springs (not sure yet)
Rear adjustable perches with 150 or 175 springs
Camber plates (red)
Front sway bar (red)

Possibly a heat shield and dual alt pulley, but that will depend on the tax return.

The Illumina's I'll probably just order from Jim.

My wish list

1978-1985 Complete Mark I Big Brake Kit

So far I think that's all I'll need. Who knows once spring rolls around though. After paint and an engine build hopefully I'll have that much money kicking around still.

Sounds good to me,

I'm looking into front and rear coilovers (possibly with the Tokico shocks if he can give everyone a deal) and camber plates

Gotta see how my tax return comes out first.

BTW anyone not wanting to wait for a cheque can bring it into a money mart, they did mine last year but it gets a little costly now and then....

K so shot Billy a pm and this is what he responded back with :

"We can set it up on the website if you like(This is concerning the payments). Just need to get an idea of the parts and quantities to establish discounts"

This is my personal list though:

Tokico Illumina's all around
Front Road Race Coil over kit
Front 8" springs
Rear coil overs and spring kit
Camber Plates

So me alone I'm already over 1000$

I just put all my wanted parts in a cart on the re-speed site, so here's my total:

1 x 1978-1985 Rx7, Stage II Rack/Pinion Conversion
1 x 1978-1985 Front Coil Over Kit, Road Race
1 x 1978-1985 Rx7, Rear Coil Over Kit
1 x 2.5" ID x 8" Long, Coil Over Springs, Pair.
1 x 1978-1985 Camber Plate Kit
1 x 1979-1985 Tubular Competition Sway Bar
1 x Dual Alternator Pulley
1 x 13B/12A Heat Shield, Aftermarket Manifold

$2,081.93

Yikes. Good thing the US dollar is in the *******, hopefully it'll stay that way til we buy the parts.

Next time you talk to Billy see if he has any problem painting the camber plates red. It's not an option on the website and I'm not sure if there's a reason for that.

Hey dj55b. I noticed that the order is getting bigger and bigger, and you mentioned that you will be driving down for the parts. Will we all be chipping in on a van or something? Not that I mind or anything.

Don't worry about that, I have my way of getting things . There will be a shipping charge of sort, but shouldn't be much. I'll find out more about that as our ordering date get closer and we know more about what exactly we are getting.

Further talking to Billy today, he said for stuff that he just buys (ie spring, shocks etc ...) we would only be able to get 5% or so discounts for those. But the things that he fabricates (ie big brake kit, rack and pinion, dual belt pulleys etc) we can get bigger discounts on those.

Lastly just a few things that Billy brought out is that the front Illumina's for the Fb's are on back order at the moment and thats why they're not on the site but he can still get them. Also he still offers the MR2 ones for a further race setup.

One things that isn't up on the site yet, is the oil pedestal. He used to make a version before with 2 x 1/4 NPT holes in the I believe it was and would just be like a spacer on the stock pedastal. But this new one replaces the stock piece all together with an addition of 3/8" NPT hole on it too I believe he said. The prices for those are 69.99 for the first and second gens, and 99.99 fo the third gens.
