1st gen Prices

Anyone looked at 1st gen prices on Autotrader lately?

Used to be one or two whack jobs asking that kind of money, but now...

Especially at the end of the season, it's supposed to be a buyers market...

You can still make an offer...

Just take the asking price and divide by 2! Explain to the seller that you want to have some $$ left over to put gas in it to drive it home.

jeez, my 1st gen got nearly 30mpg highway... I didn't think that was too bad!

all you need is a shell right now though right? I'm sure you can pick up a shell /far/ cheaper.

hell, I've got a complete '79 I'd sell for dirt! it even runs (well!)

On the highway the -SE wasn't too bad (depending on my driving), but out where I live with all the nice country roads...
