***STOLEN*** black '93 touring
yeah, my car got stolen from leamington, ontario last night sometime between 8 and 11PM.
license plate is BABR-625.
It's just a stock looking '93 touring, it had black DSM wheels on it with a polished lip, black tinted windows but otherwise stock.
if anyone sees any FD parts or the entire car for sale perhaps, PLEASE call the police, and then let me know!

My buddies FC got stolen. We recovered it a couple days ago after weeks without.
Get this:
They stole the factory stereo.
And they found it only 3 blocks from where it was stolen from (hidden from view). The motor was flooded and the battery was dead.
Maybe you should go for a quick lookie drive? I'll keep an eye out here as a courtesy.

Sorry to hear about your loss Terrh! Hope you get her back real soon.
Sounded like you went through some hard work and a few $$ to get that FD on the road.
Hope the cops accidently run over the bandits *** when they pick him up.

well, I put like 700KM on the rental car yesterday, without even leaving the county.
I found 1 interesting thing, a super super clean (but riced unfortunatly) red FD in someone's front yard, that wasn't there before, and it has frontend damage.
I went and talked to the guy that was there, he said it needs a body wiring harness but that it wasn't his car.... I really wonder if this guy (or someone that he knows) took my car to get the parts they need to fix theirs.

we all should keep the ownership on us and not in the cars, so if you think you have found your car you can look for vin# there suposted to be posted on 8 locations on the body, that would help in some cases, but ya im sry to here about that, seems like many ppl are getting there rx-7 stolen this month wtf is up with that??
worst part is door locks only keep the honest ppl out.

FD's were on the list of top 10 most stolen vehicles of the 90's and they're no less desirable now since some bad apples want them but done want to work for them.
keep em as locked up as possible..if they're away for winter storage..try to put some big heavy crap that would be difficult for htem to move out of the way..or disable the ignition/fuel pump.
make it as difficult as possible for the bastards 2 steal em.

Sorry to hear of another theft. Hopefully it turns up without being trashed. I hate thieves too.
A further thought on securing cars - it's probably a good idea to keep 'em locked even in the garage - if someone breaks into the garage, they are out of the way of prying eyes - but probably still don't want to be hanging around long. Also - a lot of people hang their keys by the front or back door - bad idea. A friend had his car stolen from the garage, while the family was home - someone simply reached in the unlocked door, lifted a key ring, and helped themselves. If you don't have window bars or a home security system, breaking the glass to get at keys by the door makes it easy, too.

my garage was full - the vert was inside
car was stock and had no cut-offs or anything of the sort. I really doubt my 10AE would get stolen, it takes 10 minutes to get it started :P. . and probably 20 if you don't know you have to turn the fuel pump on first!
well, I have another lead, I'm going to check it out late tonight.
it really looks like the police aren't doing anything, so I guess it's up to me.

The police really can't do a lot - they do get daily watch lists of stolen cars and plates to watch for, but think of how often you go through a day without seeing a cop (or just in passing), and you see the chances of them spotting it are low - especially if the car has been taken out of the local area. Usually stolen cars turn up when a lot or property owner calls in an abandoned car, And even that can take a long time - I know a guy locally who had his car stolen, it was parked and abandoned at a mall parking lot a few km's from where it was stolen, and sat there for months before it was called in. The other way they often are found is when the thieves get spotted doing something assinine, which you hope is not the case, 'cuz they're doing it in your car.
Best case is you find the car intact and the thief, and get to lay severe beats on him before calling the police to haul his worthless *** (more than likely back) to jail

Sorry to hear your ride got stollen!
That's some crazy news.
Rare car in your neck of the woods. Isn't it?
Someone must have seen it.
I still miss that car. I guess I will never see it again!
Did you end up painting it? OR was it still in the same condition?
I will keep an eye open for you.
Good luck on the hunt.

I had it all fixed up and perfect.
I just finished doing the exhaust a day or two earlier. I had everything friggin perfect, ready to go to the ottawa meet. I even made the stupid bose stuff work properly! I think I'll miss that the most. (well, that and the torque).

Terrh, I read about the trouble you went through to get your car to pass emissions and I was shocked when I read that your car was stolen. I'm sure you've already thought of this and a million other possibilities, but could there have been someone at the shop where the emissions testing was done that might have taken an interest in your car and decided to 'relieve' you of your FD?
that really sucks ***, what does one do with a stolen fd though? other than strip it for parts, an fd is pretty rare, its hard enough to find an empty vin to swap it with, isnt it?
hope you find it, I would cry if I had an fd and it was stolen... and then grab the biggest and heaviest object I could swing and go for a drive...
btw, how's it going with your insurance? I'm assuming your not getting anything close to a fair settlement?
