Trent's FC rebuild
Well a little back story first. This RX7 was my official first car in my senior year of high school and was originally NA. After I graduated it lasted another year and then blew an apex seal on the way to work.
By then I had the love/hate rx7 bug so a TII swap ensued. Luckily I had a friend with a wrecked TII that was just setting in the driveway. My dad and I picked it up and drove it home. We pulled the motor out and decided to start with a fresh rebuild. So we sent it to J and H racing in Bloomington, IN (bad idea) who rebuilt the motor with and "aggressive" street port while my dad and I swapped all the suspension and drivetrain components into my car.
After we finally got everything swapped we ferried the car to J and H racing for them to drop the motor wire up the Haltech E6X and tune it for break in. Well after about 6 months I was getting restless and decided to pull my car out of the shop. The car was street tuned for break in but not very well. it was always dumping to much fuel at low RPMs.
At this point the car was brought home and put on the back burner. I was working and didn't really have the extra cash to get it together right, but I also couldnt bring myself to sell or part it out because it was my first car. So the car sat.... and sat..... and sat.... i had joined the navy and after 5 years convinced my dad to bring the car down to Va where I was stationed. I finally had the place and resources to work on the car so he brought it down before my third deployment. I only had about 2 weeks to mess with it but ended up getting it running and idling and figured out that the builder had the map sensor settings set wrong. Then i left for deployment on the USS Enterprise for 8 months.
NOW I'M BACK!!!!
I now have a good amount of time on the shore so I have some time to dedicate to the car. I have decided to tear it down and get a better starting point to bring it back to glory. Here are some videos of the progress so far and more will be coming soon!!!
Car idling before i left.
Compilation of work so far.

Ya it definitely feels good. I have another compilation to put together. I painted the manifolds and am gathering the stuff to pull the motor so I can diagnose the clutch and clean up the engine bay and motor. Thanks for the motivation!
