I love 80's and early 90's styling. This is my FC build.

I paid $400 and rescued this from a dude's yard; 91 n/a.

By the way, is anyone running an REW with the FD transmission in their FC ? I'm going to try and run the one that came with my motor.

Also: As active as the forum is, its ridiculous that all of the FAQ info is 9 years old or older.

13b is out. Turbo and manifold test fit on the REW.

Also, pics of the crossmember. (not fully tightened or lined up)

EUREKA!!!

I actually found what I was looking for, when using the SEARCH feature!

Now I just need someone to validate it.

I read that, when using an REW motor and T2 trans, I use the REW flywheel and T2 clutch and pressure plate.

Is this correct??

Yeah mate, fd fly wheel to s5 clutch works fine.

I'll be interested to see how your motor mount compares, i have a motivfab mount for my conversion.

How are you wiring it?

I appreciate the corroboration.

I am planning to use a Haltech E8 with a custom harness.

Subbing to keep tabs on your swap.

I've always wondered about going REW

Thumbs up

just subbing to your build. i am totally diggin all of it! that turbo is freakn awesome. this is exactly what i want to do, find a "seen-better-days" fc and make it mine. as far as $400 bucks go, probably the best $400 you could ever spend haha. the car looked pretty clean for how you found it. good find! keep it up man!

PS sweet volvo!

I thought it was a pretty good buy, as well.

I'm having a little trouble coming up with a turbo 2 trans. It's really holding up my build.

However, I did throw my new steering wheel on.

Put on some block off plates today. There are like eleven of these things!
Also got the flywheel machined and clutch put on. Everyone is going to hate this, but I am running my N/A trans, until it gives in. Eventually, I'll find a T2 trans near me.
Since I'm going to explode my two N/A transmissions, I saw no sense in buying an expensive clutch for them. I bought a $95 ebay "stage 3", which is supposed to support 325hp.

We'll see.

I also test fitted my fuel rails. I need injectors and I'll be crazy close!

Oh! And I got wastegates!

More soon. I'm building steam!

Injector Dynamics 1050x primaries and 1700x secondaries. Apparently, this "X" series is new and improved. They replaced the 1000s and1700s.

Had to clock the center section and compressor housing of the Borg. Needed the oil drain facing down and the compressor outlet around 11pm.😀

I replaced the clutch slave and clutch line. It's ridiculous how easy these things are to get to.

After much test fitting of the front bumper, I decided where I wanted my oil cooler to go. I bought some lines and fittings off of Amazon, put them together and voila!

I still need to hard mount it to the body of the car.

After that, I started working on my V Mount setup.

It took me a few days to realize that I needed to flip the radiator over, so the openings were down.
I didn't go with a V mount kit from eBay or any other source. I fabbed my own mounts with Aluminum stock from Lowe's. The radiator and intercooler are now mounted extremely solid. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Most stock radiators have some sort of rubber bushings isolating them from the vibrations of the car.

As this is my first time to ever do anything of this sort, I assume I'll have some cleaning up to do. I will probably find some fail points that need to be fixed.
