Let me assure you all, this car will never loose it's Infini heritage and will always have the mark somewhere, our team shirts have it on them also. I guess I'm just taking the original philosophy behind the brand to the extreme
In other news, I should be getting my centre back with the new gears either today (Friday) or Monday and I'll be picking up my new harness tomorrow. Mechanically wise, I only need to get my tailshaft done, get my disks machined and install the tailshaft loop and it's done. Of course, there's still some painting, panel beating and general tidy up to go before I think about racing and of course the all import tech inspection. It's getting close now though

Cage is painted and floor is coated, just used stone-guard for a bit of durability. Paint on the cage is a bit thin in places (you can only really see it in the photos with the flash) but I'll just tell myself I'm trying to keep the weight down :P
Diff centre is back in, new axle seals are in but axles need to go back in and get the new bearings pressed off so the new longer wheel studs can be pressed in Also got the harness as well, will be doing a mock up for the crotch strap this Thursday (show holiday here).
Tailshaft should be going in next week some time and so will the discs. After it moves under it's own power again, it will be heading outside for a bloody good wash! It's got a years worth of shed grime and over spray on it. The only big thing then is some new rear wheels and tyres. Now looking to be at a TnT late April / early May.
For the bloke interested in the badges - this is as good as I could do, the lighting is really rubbish at the shed. First one says "Mazda Personal Quality" and they are the side badges. Second one just says "Mazda" and is the boot lock cover.

Got my tyres on today, what you guys think?
Houston - we have a problem FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
These are the fronts. They still need a 5mm spacer to clear the calipers too. Had a look on VPW (parts warehouse here in Aus similar to Summit) and they only come in 2 /516 or 1 3/4, I think these ones may be 1 3/4 but the others would only move it in another 15mm which is not enough. First though is some custom control arms. Second thought is maybe some custom hubs and disks, MX5 disks have 45mm hat height which will give me 20mm, but need to draw it all up in Sketchup to see if it's worth doing. Easiest fix is to throw the Infini rims back on for the time being, followed by some wide body guards and then the ideas above Anyone got any other ideas or input?
So after thinking about that for a while, I thought **** this I came here to finish something. So I put the tailshaft in and the loop. Probably don't need the loop as I have the forward xmember, but thought I'd put it in so it meets the letter of the law I'm still going to add some more metal and another bolt per side, just need to work out where is best to put it.
Heaps of room above the xmember
And the view to the back (think Inception, had to take this **** upside down)
I think it came out ok. Wheel nuts are here as well as some Lucas L9 diff oil. Just need to get the studs pressed in and that'll be the drive line done finally! Also got some sheet metal bent up for a dash, just need to trim it up and I'll that'll be another job off the list
