Heater hoses, finally in... That rad overflow hose is just a place holder, it's the wrong size... Found a good looking s5 pass seat in the junk yard so I snatched it up if only for no other reason than it was in good shape. So I cleaned/scrubbed it all up and did the same to the carpet underneath the pass before I put it in. I'll really get the carpet clean when I yank it to remove the sound deadening material later down the road anyway. I think the worst looking thing in the engine bay is the throttle cable... wish I could get a good one from somewhere cheap Please don't mind the parts laying everywhere lol!
I'm thinking about getting the black door panels from the junk yard to... grey just looks so... ehh... But at that point I may as well get the whole interior and I don't really feel like spending the $ on something I don't need right now... I should be focusing on the engine and throttle body right now. But I want it! lol!

The procedure I've seen for seats involves vacuuming the hell out of it, steam cleaning and letting it dry (stated as optional, but I'd assume you want to start from the cleanest possible base), then mask it off (masking tape works on vinyl, if you need to mask fabric there is a woven tape that works well) and paint according to manufacturer directions.

Dye/Fabric-Paint it. Going from gray to black is easy, and as long as you prep the fabric well and use a decent quality product it'll look great and should last quite a while. Cheap, too... the paint typically costs under $10/can.

I made a bracket for the MS3 mount a few months ago. I have since moved to a new house so it's getting started again... I made this right before I moved, I'll have to take some more pics of what I have done since...

But yeah, the plan is to take a ton of pictures and do a proper build thread when the time comes.

New base of operations!! Even though there is double the room, it's still cramed! But I scored a nice set of seats from the junk yard, got the dash and carpet out... The dash will be returning but the carpet won't! Stupid carpet... :p
I removed about 15lbs (seriously) from the rear harness running to the rear lights and such. I kept only what was needed for the reat lights... Most of the wiring back there was for the AAS, which I don't have anyways!! No more rear wiper, defroster, electric antenna, bin lights... bins... ect... Stuff that a track car has no use for...

Started trying the break apart the rear end (lol!). All teh bolts are coming loose, oddly enough, but things are not separating from each other even when they have been unbolted

Actually, I lied... I did snap some bolts already, my bad. I think they are cool. But I like to wear tutus so what do I know?
I swear, I leave the computer for one second! Damn women lol! I snapped the studs removing the rear sway bar... Strangely enough they are brackets that bolt to the frame! Hello replaceability! I snagged a good set from a convertible and they are the same! A healthy coat of anti-seize should solve future problems here...
Edit: The last pic is the trailer I'm hoping to get! It's an M116A2, surge brakes and a canopy! I'm pumped, woo!!

just an update... Swaybar mounted w/endlinks, and coilovers mounted up... Also, another fun small project lol, she really rips! I'm really going to have to do something with the fuel lines and e-brake. Didn't know they were that bad . Also, I got another gas tank but opened it up and found it was even worse on the inside... so my gas tank search continues. On the bright side though, seven stock 14 was the bomb, and got a sweet exhaust from another forum member. Now I'm that much more prepared when the day to start her up finally arrives!

Pressed out the bearings in the rear hubs. One was horrible so why not get both right? Also, I bought a press... but not after exhausting a search to just use one for free. I found a place that would do them for me but 5$ each... and since I was going to do so many it was gonna add up so I just got angry and bought the darn thing. Maybe it'll come in handy another time as well.

Since the darn pieces are so large I brought them into a local place to be blasted. Didn't wanna fork out the extra cash for powdercoating so I just high temp spray painted them. The rust is gone which was the point in the 1st place. Not really shooting for a show car even though I like to keep things neat and clean when and where I can.

When I disassembled the subframe I only had to cut one bolt! I expected worse from this car so this is actually good news lol! So the press was used to remove the bolt after my mini sledge failed. I was hoping the press would come in handy again and here it is, helping me out already
I also found out that it does take extra work, but the old bearing race can be used to press the new one on. This is a bit of extra work since you have to press the second one off after you do this but I didn't have a socket this large anyway so this was my only option. Good thing to since this was all done in a real hurry. I needed to get the car mobile fast so I could push it to my new place. Yes, I moved again...

Let me just stop here for a min and mention this. I got the MMR bushing set for this car a while back and haven't had a single problem with any of them except this one. The trailing arm bushing. They are just to large, they must have had a defect on these or something. But I had already pressed the old ones out before I found the issue, and I'm in a time crunch to move the car. I think I had 2 days left at this point. So I just pressed them in anyway... they warped, the hole in the middle got smaller. To small for the metal tube the is pressed through them. I got them in but everything is not square, the tube I pressed through was to large for the hole and ended up cutting it's own hole through the bushings, which wasn't even straight through. I'll probably end up replacing them with something else eventually... I just really needed to move the car so whatever. Just letting ya know.

Things moving along nicely. DTSS Bushings installed, hubs finally on! I Didn't know that it's impossible to mount the trailing arms onto the subframe if it's already installed. I nearly went crazy dealing with that. I think the time crunch was getting to me really bad. But my brother came over and calmed me down. We eventually pried the subframe back down off the car a little bit, just enough to slide the bolts in. Thanks BRO!

Yes... I love anti-seize! Painted the rotors to. I felt kinda cheated about that. The pictures showed them painted from the factory. But when they arrived, only the front set were So extra work for me... But I got it done just in the nick of time!! My brother and I pushed it down the road to my new place, finally done worrying lol!
