A couple of days ago I got my rotors in so I finally got to test fit my fd rims! I have a 25mm spacer... should have tried to find a 20mm or smaller but I got a good deal. Maybe this will just make me want some wide front fenders even more lol!

Sending my injectors out to cruzin performance tomorrow. Anyone have experience with them? Also... I thought the s5 t2 engines came with a 550cc purple injector... Are these the 460cc red injectors?

Edit:
from the FAQ:
What size injectors does my RX-7 use? What colour are they?
Year Engine Plug Size Colour Part #
84-85 13B NA, low square center, 680cc, orange, 195500-0900
86-87 13B NA, low square center, 460cc, red, 195500-1350
86-87 13B Turbo, low square center, 550cc, tan, 195500-1370
88 13B NA, high square offset, 460cc, purple, 195500-1350
88 13B Turbo, high square offset, 550cc, purple, 195500-1370
89-91 13B NA, high oval center, 460cc, red, 195500-2010
89-91 13B Turbo, high oval center, 550cc, purple, 195500-2020

The # is 195500-2020 on these so I guess they are the correct ones... Can't always trust those colours lol!

Look at the injetor and you will find the injector number that matches that list..

You will know what you have..

Colors is not a good thing to go by as many change colors with heat cycles through the years.

More assembly... The 1st pic is just a reminder showing that you should pack grease into the bearings. The 3rd pic shows the large c-clip that holds the steering shaft in. I had to take it back apart, don't forget the rubber spacer that fits between this C-clip and bearing!!

cars lookin great man keep up the good work.
your car has high impedence injectors cause its a 1988.5 model
86-88 are low impedence
88.5, 89-91 are high impedence

i think thats the only difference. everything else is s4 but the injectors on an 88.5
seems like your using an s5 front cover now?? did you pick up an s5 turbo?

It's an s-5 motor, I just put the s-4 water pump and housing on... So everything will be s5 except the fuel rails and water pump and housing, k?

I'll take pics tomorrow, but I finally got some more stuff done today... Got the turbo cleaned up and mounted, tie rods adjusted to straight to the eye (will have to get an alignment asap), oil cooler mounted, brake booster mounted and lines run, front calipers finished and ready to mount, coils cleaned and mounted, fuel rails and injectors mounted and plummed (got screws and washers to space the s4 t2 rails to mount to s5 t2 engine)...

some things I still have to do is get an exhaust, sway bars, radiator, some interior pieces and a bunch of little stuff... I lost most of my pics since my computer crashed again (using softraid w/lvm in Ubuntu... guess I still have a lot to learn ... )

Also, I heard there was something extra I had to do with my omp block off plate... I really don't wanna pull it off but I read somewhere that u have to put 2 dimes in there to space out the shaft??? Is that true?

The pics Just trying to work with cork to get an oil cooler line that's long enough... once that's done I'm hoping to get a corksport radiator and finish up all the tidbits and start the mega squirt! Still no deadline, and I'm taking my time... I was hoping to get a side mount alt kit to but we'll just have to see if that happens or not...

Red face Chugging along...

I didn't forget about the project y'all! I have just been sidetracked by things like work, rebuilding my dirt bike, maint on my truck, drooling over new parts lol! Well here's the latest.

Finally got the oil cooler line issues sorted out... Got a return from corksport that became an credit twords the radiator. The oil cooler lines were procured from a fellow forum member and appear to be either the racing beat or mazdatrix ones... whichever is the case, the fit is perfect!

had to re-do the fuel lines because the UIM wouldn't sit correctly with the previous routing. I feel kinda weird putting the fuel lines on the motor but I did my best to route them on smooth edges only... I may think of something else later but fuel line starts to get expensive if you keep re-doing things Found a hood prop clip at the junkyard and broke it at home Had to J-B weld it and it seems ok, just wish I hadn't broken it! But at least the hood prop is finally back on the car and not taking up space on my workbench anymore, it's always full!!

The 3rd pic is something I dug out of my parts... I'm not sure exactly how it attaches and is something I have been wondering for a while now... I am waiting to put my new 8mm wires on until I do. I want them to look nice and routed properly.

Last pic is another one of my failures... I was cleaning the excess from the BAC/IAC valve and went though!! I set it down and it looked good, on second thought why don't I just clean this little bump down a little more... bzzz, damn!! I shoulda stopped lol! The other 2 are from a junkyard, all they had were N/A and I didn't know they were different at the time so I grabbed them... there's another 20$ wasted The throttle cable looks like real ***... to bad it's right on top! And finally got the turbo oil feed and drain's hooked up, gotta get the water lines done soon as well, on my long list lol. Had to trim down the racing beat radiator hoses to fit properly since the radiator is so thick... felt bad cuting right through the logo ... And somehow I also managed to fit time in to grind all the rust off the sway bar, paint it and install it with new mazdatrix adjustable endlinks Just couldn't justify aftermarket sways when I have so much else to buy right now...

Man this thing is getting dusty sitting here, wish I could move faster! Next I want to get the brake duct supports welded back into their proper places and mount the ducts and bumper support. Why does everyone have to hit curbs and damage these!?

You can use the NA BAC valve. You just have to loosen the little screw (careful not to strip!) and you can rotate the intake pipe. I did it with mine!

Haha, thanks! For sure dude!

And I was going to do that beefhole, but wasn't sure if it would even swivel if I loosened it... That's good to know Well I ended up finding another T2 valve in the junkyard and smoothed it out like the 1st one with no problems... leaving more meat in the problem area this time lol! But the valve is still diff... maybe the j-spec ones were different, like instead of a round hole it was square, and the air pipe on it was bigger... But any should work fine for me so it's all good

Got a few more tid bits taken care of this week. Found a set of not totally old rotting sun visors in an s5 at a pick and pull, so those went in asap lol! I don't care if there black and my interior is grey! And finally pieced together the heatercore hoses... I totally spaced on those, wasn't even thinking about them until I thought about filling the radiator and saw a bunch of open holes... Yeah... smooth move there! So I got some out of the junk yard and cleaned/dressed them up since I never had any, and new ones cost a real grip! Then it was on to installing my cleaned up drive shaft and filling the transmission. That all went fine and dandy. Finally got to fill and tighten down the shifter turret as well. Everything feels tight and goes into gears well enough. It'll be a long time before I get to spin the gears over inside but oh well...

I was about that time I noticed that the rubber insulator boot around the shifter was 100% all wrong... Yes, that's right, the one on the right is really what I took out of there! Here's how there supposed to look guys/gals. Why are people just jamming whatever the hell they can find in there?? A certain someone I know just stole one of my rx7's rubber strut tower covers, cut the middle of it out and used it for the same purpose in a miata... some peoples kids, I swear!

Also had to fork out 8 and change for a that little turbo water drain hose... I knew I would never be finding a turbo in the pick and pull so I figured it had to be done...
