It bolts on fine with no problems. Use an FC clutch.
And hes using Power fc ecu.

yes it bolts to the NA trans but you have to use the s5 flywheel and counterwieght and then a NA clutch.. good luck with your build !

Having driven FC's with and without power steering in 2 AutoX seasons, I think you'll prefer the power steering more for the quicker ratio. That's my preference; if you have a friend that has an FC w/ a manual rack, see if you can borrow it for an event

You can of course, turn a powered rack into a manual by modifying the guts (which requires welding). You'll get a quicker rack, but it'll be a bit heavier as well.

After a season or two with a manual rack, you'll definitely get some muscle on your arms

thanks for the advice...as of right now i am keeping the powersteering lines in the car just tying them back for the moment so that if i decide to i will put it in... but my main goal is getting the car running right now and then doing more of the fabrication work later to put in the power steering.

So all you used is a piece of tube stock to mount it?

Its a piece of steel and welded it across the frame set a rear plate on the tranny and marked the holes to drill out to put the bolts through and thats it

That's pretty cool. The subframe or steel beam you welded across is for the motor to lay on or actually mount to?

Yes that so u can use the fd mounts try to use the stock fc mounts is alot of trouble and isnt as sturdy i felt then trying to use the fd mounts if u have the rew look at the mounts it mounts in the rear where the oil pan is and then u can just got to the hardware store and buy a piece of steel to weld and it was easiest to go ahead and line up the rear plate bolt it to the transmission to make sure the holes line up

Cool I have a lot of steel at my house from building trailers with my grandpa back in the day.
I just need to make sure and get a motor within a reasonable time to custom the subframe

I also picked up a true mazdaspeed body kit for 100 bucks and plan on mounting that after i get the car painted! Update on the engine i finally got to work on it a bit over my thanksgiving break and i connected the oil lines hooked up the return and the heater hose, changed out the slave and ran into another problem my Master is bad so i have to buy that and i can finally test drive it... Hope everyone had a great Holiday!
