Big thanks to Kookidowg for hooking me up with some rare goodies

Some of you may have seen this gtus transmission with an nb miata 5 speed gearset floating around, here's the details below

https://www.rx7club.com/race-parts-o...gears-1091340/

As well as these oem jdm window visors! Really stoked that they mesh very well with the aero mirrors (can't roll down the windows since I don't have switches lol)

:O Where did you get those rain guards? I've been looking for awhile and didn't want the carbon fiber ones. Looks like it's still coming along nicely!

Thanks! They were posted in the classifieds along with the transmission so I ended up getting both for a good price.
No one carries them that I know of :/ You're best bet would probably be yahoojp auctions.

Hey man the visors are looking sick. Glad to see that they're in good hands along with the tranny. Remember to make a video of the car hauling *** with your setup please lol.

Proper cooling is essential for any type of track duty
My spare fb oil cooler is in better condition than the fc's, so it's going to be mounted up, polished and ducted. Koyo has correct s5 brackets on it now and is being sent out for a custom fan/shroud setup

I've had good experiences with both so it makes sense to go the electric route for it's compactness.

Ahh for sure. I myself love simple engine bays with very little things going on. Although, couldn't get my electric fan setup properly as cfm ratings were actually higher than the mechanical fan so I would like to see how this goes as I was terrible on it haha. What shop are you getting your fan and shroud setup at?

Weird... Normally it's the other way around with efans not pulling enough cfm. Going through a friend of mine at Angel motorsports who with any luck will also be rebuilding my original 6 port.

Speaking of simplifying
Power rack out, Manual rack in

Oops I meant the other way around about the cfm ratings LOL. Yes the manual rack. Best driving mod in my opinion unless you had to parallel park like in my area.

Angel motorsport? John vargas?

Ugh no kidding, Can't be worse than non-functioning powersteering that's for sure.

And yup! Going through Vargas, still undecided on what fan to use and a solution for a thermoswitch.

The old seats and cracked maroon dash looked like death so the new recaros and s4 dash are in along with an old personal wheel that wasn't getting any use.
Bucket of interior plastics from countless fc's ready to finally be restored. Still a ton of work to be done but I'm just happy to have a majority of the old cancerous interior out.

thread revival 3.0

Took a break from posting since I wanted to take better quality pictures and a scratched lens iphone 6 camera isn't cutting it for me anymore.
Gonna post the last few pictures I took on the phone and start off fresh with new equipment

Found out my gas door cable broke from the latch seizing so I greased all the moving parts on the mechanism and replaced the cable with a new one. Very straight forward

Personally picked this up from racing beat hq so I could finally scrap the old exhaust piping. Old setup was a no name header merged to a flex pipe to the stock catback.... classy

Been drooling over this high capacity oil pan for ages now. So when a secondhand unit came up for sale locally it was a no brainer. More on this later

Oil Pan and engine mounts are finished. Sourced an engine stand adapter from Pineapple racing as well as some other goods to get this 6 port looking pretty

These guys stand behind their product. Answered all my questions and even threw in some drain bolts and gold hardware with my order... hell yes

Aero is mocked up and finally got organized enough to be able to see the passenger side!! lol it's the little things

You're right, it's discontinued from what I can tell. I know xcessive manufacturing makes an fd pan that's very similar but no 2nd gen love

And thanks brudda, I won't allow this car to be just another stagnant fc

Original transmission is out, s4 trans bracket does not interchange with the s5 trans so a new bracket was ordered. Put a little motul gear oil in the new case to keep the insides fresh. Mazdatrix ss engages so nice and effortlessly with a 3 inch extension.

Reminded me of this scene from Thunderbolt with Jackie Chan lol

All that's left is small details and the driveshaft

Built2Apex makes a pan, but it's pricey.

Sorting through this wiring harness like a madman, Glad I labeled "most" of the important things.
Another modification I wasn't planning on doing is tubs but the the aesthetics of the stock sheetmetal are so hideous and it will leave room for more tire in the future.

Flywheel has seen better days. Waiting on a 3/4 in breaker bar to pop it off and I'm sending the keg off to be inspected/rebuilt

Aww dude you should've told me on netplay if you needed a 3/4 breaker bar for that flywheel nut. I would've let you used mine as well as the socket if you still needed that as well.

All in all restoration build is looking good so far. A clean bay is a good bay.

Really digging the build so far. Looks like you're doing everything I'm planning on doing.
