Project: Revive Rocky I "Back from the dead"
1990 Silver Winning GXL...not many around I guess.
First I wanna give a short summary of the life of this car...its pretty gnarly.
I bought the car in 2004 from a buddy and quickly started to mod it as you can see from the pics below...
and slowly but surely, after going through many problems with a girl and my life in general, I started to let him fall apart...

After owning the car for 3 years and having to sell a lot of the goodies I had on it to survive, the car got stolen from my apartment. Never heard about it again...until...
3 months later I bought a 1988 Camry to beat around as my DD then THAT got stolen LOL...cops find it on a Monday and tell me its at impound. I pay the $135 to bail it out and out of curiosity I ask the girl to run the plates from my old FC and I get the craziest answer... "Oh yeah! It came through here, its on that list behind you going for auction on Wed"
Me:
I ask for the amount to bail IT out too and she says its $2,200!!! Apparently it never got registered to my name and it had expired tags and a few parking tickets PLUS the 3 months it was at impound. Shitty thing was that all of that money would have to be paid by my buddy regardless of the car selling to someone else so I got on the phone and he instantly came to take the car home. He paid, he kept it.
I kept in touch for a few months and ended up buying another FC from the same buddy which ended up being Rocky II...here is his transformation:
Anyway...2 years go by and I'm building the white one, having forgotten about the "Champagne" one completely. I get a PM on here from that buddy of mine asking if it was me. He tells me he still has the car but it has blown coolant seals and its been sitting for months. I was so excited!!! I go check out the car and picked it up Monday night.
Another buddy of mine donated a wrecked FC with a good motor to use for parts and so the build begins...
I'm hoping to do a mean stock body look for street and some track events. I plan on keeping it the original color and yes, even the burgundy interior.
I went through a really bad phase in my life while I owned that car and I plan on putting a lot of time and money into it for taking care of me at my all time lows. When I left from home, it was all I had. I packed it to its limit with all my stuff and even lived in it for a week. Showering at friend's houses and driving it to interviews packed with **** haha but my spirits never broke. I wanna bring it back to life and make it better than ever since I'm doing great now.
Sorry for the life story, just needed to make it clear that this car means a lot to me.

Very excited! Blown motor came out yesterday and started cleaning the engine bay a bit.
Pulled tranny off donor engine to find that clutch was stock but almost new....junked it! Got a 6 puck Action Clutch and PP
Cleaning the rats nest soon and prepping the car for cooling.

that interior to me looks like it needs to be vaccumed hella good..pulled out .. sprayed down with purple power the pressure washed let sit for a day in the sun.. and itd be good as new
howd u run the efan setup, im getting 2 honda efans for free from a friend and kinda wondering how i could mount them

LOL yeah that was on there...the car already had a ton of stuff done to it when I had it last:
- Solid motor mounts
- e fans
- custom cold ari box
- Tokico Illuminas w/ Eibach springs
- Sparco seat
- Momo hub & steering wheels
- RE-A wangan wing
- RX8 shift ****
- Custom exhaust w/ pacesetter headers
- 8mm magnecore wires
etc, etc haha
Oh man yeah I need to clean the crap out of it!....need to replace some broken stuff too.
The fans were off a Dodge Intrepid I believe. Slightly wider than the rad but worked great. I used zip ties to hold it on but that should be done better. My advice is NOT to use the Honda fans. Hit a junkyard and pull a late model Taurus e fan...those work well. If you dont wanna spend the bucks...a stock clutch fan & shroud work wonders
