Thanks for the offer, but for some sort of rotary magic I talked a guy down to $500 for a longblock 13B-REW, given that the RE has more suitable mounting points that was my first consideration, but such is life with it's lemons ans ****.

Excellent so I bought the engine and thanks for all of you prompt replies. I did not even need to run a compression test as it a clear by turning it by hand that the rear housing/rotor had no compression.

Further inspection revealed a missing apex seal and one cracked on the rear iron. All that being said I paid only $500 USD for it. Being that this person paid $1800+450 for shipping was very well worth it.
But hey, it's a complete longblock and a very very clean looking one so far. In the event the seal catastrophe caused damage to the housing I have some clean N/A s5 housing I might be able to use for now until proper replacements are sourced. I did not see your post, Mysteryx69 until this very moment (After I got done w/ business? but I have a good reason to suspect it's an automatic car engine. Little research shows that the ECU a N3A8 ECU which is, as far as I know a J-sep auto ECU. Now I have heard stories of importers slapping any ECU that will fit to make up for a missing or clearly damaged ECU. We will no soon since I have not done a detailed check.

Going off the ECU it appears it might be an auto, but I could not see what you're referring to on the picture, but I didn't really take a close look (It's dark and cold)

What's ur plan for motor mounts? It'll have to be quite a bit more "in-depth" than your auto rear iron/tranny bellhousing duct tape fix.

 

I don't have any plans since I just found out actually about the rear iron issue

That being said I will not perform a "duct tape fix" haha perhaps some custom made mounts or some research will reveal a proper way. I see no reason of doing a half assed job in such a sexy engine and whoever does so should be slapped.

Now I am not 100% certain it's an automatic engine. I have seen the engine importers slap on ECU's from whatever is available from the boat if the one equipped or damaged.
I will be looking at the rear iron later today and despite my perceived optimism I'm quite sure it's a auto.

 

Well, after over an hour of struggling to get my engine in my house with the engine hoist hahaha what a nuisance. Why would I pull of such a stupid task?
Well it's going to start snowing and I have a driveway not a garage and I want to start tearing down the block to asses the damage.
Do I smell a teardown and rebuild thread? perhaps.

Yeah, it's 60° now and going to snow tonight, so I'm pulling a last minute scramble to get some stuff done before the weather kills me. I have garage(s) though, so it's not quite as dire as your situation.

 

Quite dire, indeed. I hate working in the cold and snow simply aggravates the situation exponentially. I long having a garage and should have perhaps waited it out and bought a home instead of a trailer but I'm young and have very limited credit history (>1 year) so I doubted any one would finance a mortgage for me despite having 20K down payment at the time. For now I am limited of rebuilding engines in my spare rooms, which makes is great. No one in a level minded world should rebuild an engine outdoors.

 

There isn't a motel room in Daytona Beach that hasn't had an engine rebuilt in it.
