My 3rd FC

Wellll, here it is. The story- car was (and still is) a write-off, but saveable. I have friends in the bodyshop business, and basically the car is being repaired and inspected under their name. It's a base model 1986 FC, but for some reason has turbo brakes front and rear! The best part about it? 74xxx original km's. Not a speck of rust anywhere on or underneath this thing.

My plans for it for now:
Wheels (have them already)
Slam it (still need coilovers)
S5 Bumpers and trim (still need rear bumper)
Paint it

So for now this car is basically just sitting at the shop. I haven't done much so far. Wired up a stereo, but don't have a head unit in it yet. Waiting for my two-way alarm to get here, so while I wait, I installed universal power lock actuators, and a hatch popper. The universal actuators actually line up perfectly with two of the holes in the door of the FC! If anyone wants pics or more details let me know, power locks are cheaper than you think... the actuators are 10 bucks a piece.

It got hit in the front, and the rear. I have to get it on the frame machine in the bodyshop, pull the front end straight again, weld down one point in front of the rad support, and install the hood, fender, and bumper that I have. For the rear, it's just two dents. I'll have to pull it as straight as possible, and finish with some body filler.

Enough talk, on with the pics. I'll update progress as I slowly make it. Most of my free time right now is dedicated to working on a 1959 Ford F100 with a 1990 5.0 engine. It's kinda gay, but it's extra cash haha. Once I have that done, I'll get the FC done.

Looks like the rear end will be easy to take care of, but I don't think that front will buff out...

When I wrecked my '88, there was no bringing it back. I really loved that car, and eventually replaced it with a '91. However, that '88 will always have a special place in my heart.

I saw that car across from Cookies Grill, good to see you got another FC to replace that 240 coupe, though I do have a soft spot for the coupes.

that front damage looks like nothing. Just pound them out at home and good to go.

Id leave it s4 unless you plan to get every S5 exterior piece. s4 with partial s5 parts just looks horrible imo. I think those GXL wheels look alot better than those XXR wheels too.

The moldings on the doors and fenders are different. Mirrors are also different.

Nice pick up, OP. Looks like it shouldn't take much to get it looking good again. Good job bringing another one back from the dead.

I have every exterior piece except for the mirrors and rear bumper. I'm no stranger to bodywork Check my albums and look for the school bus FC

I can't just "pound it out at home" because it's a write-off, needs to be fixed by an ICBC accredited body shop, and then have a government inspection done on it.

Well I've gotten a lot of little things done with this car but have yet to start on the bodywork.... STILL need an S5 rear bumper, ftp lenses, and signal lenses. Oh wells.

Lifted up the rear carpet to find that someone had a sub in there previously, so all I had to do was screw mine in and my amp is on the other side.

Car came with no stereo whatsoever, and we all know how accurate the stock gauges are, so I made my own stereo/gauge holder and installed it all. Just gotta hook the temp gauge up yet. Oh yeah, new wheel too.

The two way alarm is also installed and works great. Hoping to start on the bodywork sometime this or next week.
