Me vs turbo jetta vs full bolt and tune mustang. 40 roll I let off when he did the fly by. I was also at the very top of 1st gear. You can hear me bounce the rev limiter when we took off.
Dig run on **** chinese tires.
Had some good runs yesterday. I hung with a GTR. He only got me by about 1.5 cars on a 20 roll
I like the way the back looks without the fat bumper skin. What are the plans for the new one?
Thanks, I like the oe fascia as well. Plans for the new seven are to fix and flip. Engine has ok compression but wont hold an idle. I also had to fix a bunch of wiring stuff like push button starts and no power to the ignition switch. Waiting for LIM gasket and some fuel injector grommets. The car is a total **** box, but I figure i can maybe get like 1200 bucks from someone looking for a drift missle.

Ended up trading that missle for a base coat/clear coat paint job from a self proclaimed professional painter. I'm going to be nice and say his painting is not very good. The color is a dark charcoal grey metallic. Lots of orange peel and he didnt do any of the minor body work that we talked about. I guess thats what happens when you take a chance on someone you hardly know. Oh well, only had about 300 into it.... Its ok for now, ill repaint it eventually. I'm just glad to get that heap out of my driveway and I have my car back.
I have some pretty big plans. Decided to go full drag (the car not me). Plans for the year are 8-point roll cage and a Ford 8.8. I've also been scouting pick n pull for a LQ block the past couple months. Thats going to be the base for my turbo build. Behind it will be a built 2 speed powerglide with transbrake. I'm shooting for 8s or better. Time to start working some overtime.
Also Picked up a new welding machine.

I wouldn't fuss with finding an LQ block for a drag car. The aluminum blocks are plenty strong and you save 100# on the nose of the car. My friends 2900# fox body with a powerglide and stock alum 5.3 went 8.0 @165mph. Stick with what you've already got.
I feel you on the random paint jobs. Sent my T2 hood to a guy with a good reputation and he just gobbed clear coat on. Oh well, I will eventually repaint the entire car.
Could you wet sand the orange peel? That might save the pain of a respray in your case.

I'm looking for around 1000 to the wheel. From what I've read, over 800hp on the aluminum block is pushing it.

He said he did 2 coats of base and 2 coats of clear. I dont know if I can believe him or not, but I'm afraid of burning through the clear coat.
