that's where I'm going to start... new front struts are at the revalvers already. I just sent my rear remote reservoir Bilsteins out today.

 

Took my driver's side fender off over the weekend to fix the damage done when my ball joint broke. There isn't much left of this corner

I will have to start working on my own..

 

I'm not selling the rears... the revalver is going to replace the shafts and make them a bit longer which will solve the 1 issue I have with them.

I am selling the fronts... The new fronts are at the revalvers

It's fine, no rush. I'd love to pick your brain about both the old and new setup.

 

lame update:

Suspension is still at the re-valvers (Fat Cat Motorsports). It's waiting on him to finish developing a new valve stack with a high velocity bypass feature he's calling Kerb Blow off:
KBO (Kerb Blow-Off) option in development

Mine will be one of the first sets with the feature, so that's cool.


I think I've decided on a way to fix my roll center adjuster ball joints so they won't snap in half again... I'm still waiting on some parts, I'll post up a mock-up picture when that's ready.


I haven't been doing much in the garage... it's cold in there and I haven't gotten around to hooking up the garage heater I bought last winter yet >_> But I've been doing lots of thinking!

Just acquired something that should completely fix my boost creep issues

 

I've been researching and designing a new lightweight exhaust to replace my Racingbeat REV-TII. (which will be for sale in a few weeks if anyone is interested)

I took the turbo off last night.

Packed up the exhaust manifold and turbine housing and shipped it off to get ceramic coated at swain-tech:

new downpipe is a super rare JDM KSP divorced wastegate 3" unit:




I'm super excited about it. I'm going to weld a v-band to the end of it and get it ceramic coated too.

the rest of the exhaust will be 3" going to a burns stainless 2 stage muffler packed with stainless steel scrubble in the middle then out the rear with a turn down


I also found an HKS wastegate actuator upgrade made for the FC that I bought a few years ago right before they discontinued it. According to my research it has an 8.5 psi spring in it I'm going to modify it slightly to fit on the BNR stage 2 and run that.

I'm taking off my greddy profec B spec 2 boost controller (also for sale ) and plan to setup boost control using the megasquirt this spring, until then 8.5 psi should be fine.

 

In for following what you do with cooling (oil primarily) as our setups are similar motorwise (or will be once the turbo gets shipped off minus megasquirt/Vmount)

Looks very impressive from the videos, have you ever done any of the HPDEs down at VIR or any of there other events they hold? Curious how it all holds up there as its more or less my home track

just needed to oval out the holes a bit to get it to fit on the larger BNR stage 2 compressor housing. Can't test the arm fitment until I get the exhaust housing back from ceramic coating... but it should be fine.


I just ordered a big sheet of 18g aluminum sheet to make the v-mount ducting much better. I'm removing the undertray and just making a big duct. Hopefully it turns out well.

 

Not yet, I'll get down there eventually.... It's probably a bit far to drive in the corolla (700# rear springs are brutal on a 2200# car) and I don't trust the rx7 enough on the track yet go to that far

I've only done 1 track day in the FC and it didn't end well

If you ever make it down this far for VIR let me know. Its essentially my home track. Ive seen several NA 7s and alot of 8s Not many fc turbos. Fds well, thats sometimes a common sighting

 

You know when you'll be going to VIR again? I plan on taking my FC to at least 1-2 events this year.

 

I am trying to get down there with a few friends and my parents this year as well.

I have this same heater in my garage. Love it, keeps my tuck under 2.5 car stall garage nice and warm.

Yeah, it's on a 30amp circuit. It's 5000W @ 240V so it'll only draw like 21 amps.

I love it. I have yet to crank it much above "low" which on the model I have is like 5 clicks from off. in between low and medium I can work in a t-shirt no problem on the coldest days.

I need to throw an additional layer of pink foam on my garage door and finish taping my ceiling though. As it stands, with this last cold snap that went through, my electric bill was $40 more a month then it would cost to run my AC in the summer haha. Granted, I leave it on low all the time because I have a wash sink, and do not want the pipes to freeze/break. That, and it helps heat the bedroom above it.

Typically It costs about the same as running the AC though and I have to finish insulating ect ect so, regardless, it really is not that bad to run cost wise.

Run a shop fan of some kind at the back end of the garage to circulate the heat around and enjoy!

My garage is on the far end of my house with nothing above it and not really insulated... so it'll probably have to work a bit harder, but it should do a decent job. I'll probably throw some insulation in the ceiling one of these days...
