Dori Rotard 2.5 project drifter/weekend ****
Hey guys, well im back again...this time i plan for good..hahahaha I used to have an 87 TII that i was building, knicknamed it Dori Rotard....that was almost 10 years ago and i got in over my head with it financialy and had to part ways...i then tried to get another and build it about a year ago..but that was in the middle of finishing up another build...which is obviously not a smart idea, so i ended that before i even got the car home. but now i have an 87 sport, same color as my original, and since i had a half *** attempt in between now and the original i decided to call it ver. 2.5 hahahaha
anyway, bout the car about 3 weeks ago. got it bone stock with 110k miles and no front caliper on the passenger side for 1200. its a little more than i wanted to spend, but in reality to find a car in this condition for a more appropriate price i would definetly have to travel in which case my total woud probably excede the amount i did pay.
The car is quite clean and only has a few small spots of surface rust...and in part of my dissasembly found one small rot portion behid the rear aero piece which i should have no problem cleaning up and patching..but the car runs and sounds pretty damn solid!!! got it home and parked it right away though and started ripping it apart...found an OMP line cracked and not sure how long it was like that...also the car sat for 1.5 years before the po got it to sell it so i really have no idea how long this motor will run...but frankly i dont care...i bought this as a shell to swap and build...so ill be testing the time limit of the n/as survival.....unless it lasts longer than the amount of time it takes me to rebuild the TII motor i just got for it..but we will see...
Anyway, i plan to buid it as a fun car...pretty much a weekend warrior and kinda daily in the summer when its nice out...so with out further adu...on to the pics and the build!!!
Links to "stages"
First day with the car
Initial break down - Rats nest/emissions.OMP removal and rear sub frame refresh
TII Engine Initial look
Update/Surge Tank construction
Next update- Engine back together (start up vid w/ or w/o custom exhaust finished...depends on weather) bushings pressed in and ready to install (hopefully also everything back together) and ISC Coilover install(waiting on shipping)!

Went and got the motor last week...also finished up aquireing all the bushings, and as soon as the last set gets in and i finish painting up the subframe everything will get pressed on and thrown in the car! also ordered sine ISC Coil-overs which i hape to come in this week too....then just gotta install the OMP block off, extend the fuel lines, finish fabbing the exhaust, then throw everything together!!! whoot!
All the parts:
TII Trans:
gunna need one new rotor im thinking:
all the rest of the bushings....except whiteline upper spindle bushing with camber adjustment:
and because i like to influense others, and im poor so i wont always have the funds to create the opportunity to wrench on my seven....i got my room mate abord the crazy train!!

Making some Progress....taking a break from finishing up the engine block offs and reassembly now...also have all my bushings in and should be pressing them in tomorrow, have to do it myself because the instructors dont trust the students ability to simply press bushings out and in at the local tech...
Also started constructing my surge tank!!! that wont go in until i have the TII motor in, but figured since i dont have my own TIG welder id get it done while im still in class!
and a mock up of the finished product (arrow pointing to where i need to finish a weld...couldnt seal it up as heat casues the air inside to expand...that creates pressure...that causes the air to shoot out the remaining section...that causes porasity....thats no good...hahaha so monday i should be drilling and welding the bungs on
1 -6and for stock tank to surge tank, 2 -6an for surge tank to dual pump (either Bosch 044s or the external Walbro 255s) then one -8an for engine return and 1 -10an for surge tank to stock tank return.....went with the -10 casue i wanted to make sure there was no pressure built up in the surge tank to mess with the engine return fuel!!
