it means the wire ends dont have anything on them. they just finish. terminated means that they have been crimped and with plugs on them so they plug into something. flyuing lead means you do that part yourself.

Sounds nice and smoooooth, even at a low idle.

Mine can't go that low without being bouncy. Plus mine pops and my timing tends to jump 1 degree... old haltech on old *** car...

Recently installed MSD box helped though, seemed much smoother.

it sounds even smoother once i set the trigger angle. its set at a default of 90, and thats what i got. i set the idle to like 800 or so and she purrs like a kitten. me gusta.

yeah i have. the problem with that is i havent tuned it enough to free rev it. well, it revs fine, it just needs to be tuned and the harness checked for any faults, and the learning of the ecu. usually you tune it when its good and hot, cus its always gona be at that zone when tuning. so by the time im done fiddling with cold, the battery drains on the laptop.

the one thing i noticed at there is not a damn company that makes injector spacers for our injectors that fit in the intake manifold. i sure do hope someone makes some. hm... hint hint.

tuning the transient throttle enrichment is proving to be a pain in the ***, and then getting the map squared away is a pain. its not sooo bad, but its a chore that i dont mind. its my project car so to speak. however, i did find some awesome literature about the throttle pumps and will be applying this to the settings.

^Yes, go with the throttle pumps. I don't know if it's the same as my old E6k, but I thought I had it all set up properly. However, I always had an annoying hesitation when barely pressing the gas. This was a PITA backing out the driveway slow, or inching up in traffic et cetera. Turns out that even barely touching the gas, the throttle pump is needed. I set the dead band to some high number like 20% so I knew it wouldn't kick in, and it showed me that the regular fuel map cannot deal with even breathing on the gas. The car went totally bonkers and pegged the wideband. So I reset the dead band to 0 and cranked up my throttle pump.

Perfecto!

Again, this is how it is on my old computer, but it could probably apply in general. It's an easy thing to setup too. Just touch the gas. If it's lean, add some fuel on the throttle pump, otherwise take some out.

PS
Your car idles SMOOTH. What kind of timing are you running?

http://files.haltech.com/downloads/p..._throttle.html

thats the page i was telling you guys about. this is a pretty awesome page and it explains things pretty well. the old e6x was pretty easy to setup as it had like... 6 bars to **** with in the throittle pumps and that was it. i got the paper BDC put out regarding the sprint re setup, and i just copied over the settings. it seems a LOT better than where it was before. heh.

so lets see how well it goes now. ill try tuning my map as best as i can, but it goes lean in many spots. thing is, sitting in the driveway and just tuning it to rev is a chore since my car is a loud *** ****.

the way we used to do it is to turn the throttle pumps off, and tune it at steady state at different rpm points, and then once the main map is good you can turn the throttle pumps back on.

or you can just map it rich and don't run the throttle pump at all! its been done, although i wouldn't recommend it

^That's pretty bad to run it pig rich and no throttle pump. I goofed around with that. It wound up being 11:1 idle ratios and after that it got worse. But hey, it wasn't hesitating!

I watched the video... it did sound really bad when you were revving lightly. Time to start adjusting the fuel maps.

yeah im gradually editing the maps. i guess its better to run it super lean than to run it pig rich and flood it out.

It won't flood out once it's running. The rotary can run stupid rich and stay running, it's just terrible for fuel economy and plugs though. But while it runs, you can tune away the fuel. It's not good at all to run lean. Obviously in boost that's a no-no. Even when idling it, especially during warm up, if it's too lean it will just die out on you.

that was a good read about the accel enrichments you know of any more documents like that? I would get an extention cord so you can keep your computer from dieing and then when shes all warmed up start working the load cells you can hit on the fuel map. screw your neighbors they can deal with the noize! if they bitch about you reving your car up just tell them you were cuting some trees down with your chain saw

The poor shmuck from last night is probably going to throw a brick at my car... I got home from work and fired it up. As I pulled out the driveway, I set off a car alarm. I went to 7-11, got a snack, and came back. Set off the alarm again. I though "you know, it's a nice night, might as well go for a drive". Pulled out again, set the alarm off. When I came back later, I set the alarm off. To be an *******, I revved the engine a bunch of times in my driveway setting off the alarm. THEN a few minutes late a bunch of spots opened up in the street (needed to bring the honda into the driveway to work), so I pulled out again to park... setting off the alarm.

Oh well. You should do the same!!

yeah i have a neighbor that has an s2k with an exhaust, and he tries backing into his driveway all the time. he never gets on the first or 2nd try. its loud as hell and annoying. hell, when i was filming this, the neighbor 3 houses over walked over asking me WTF is all this noise coming from?

im thinking i should install the 2 step or rev limit function?

im still in need of a decent intercooler.

"reticulating splines" EDIT: see my sig!
I love it.

You're lucky with the filters... The old haltechs are noisy as ****. I have mine at 4 and it's till pisses me off.

More fuel to primer if you're having trouble starting.
Also less timing on the cranking map. Some say add a ton, I found that doesn't work...
I don't know if the later haltechs do this, but on my old one, I add a **** load of fuel on the 0RPM map and it helps on start up.
Also, what is your staging set at? On mine, when I moved it to a lower bar, it helped a lot.
Finally, when you hear that kick back on cranking... touch the gas pedal. You may get it to turn over. It's the sound it makes when it's almost there.
